Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Given October Release Date

Just in time for Halloween, Castlevania: Lord of Shadows swings into stores this October! Get it? “swings” into stores? Because, you know, the main character has a whip and swings…

PS3vault is reporting that Konami has announced the release window and box art for Catlevania: Lords of Shadow. There is no exact release date yet, but launching the game during the Halloween season is not a total surprise- not just because the content of the game, but previous Castlevania games, including the last game Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth, was was released on October 27, 2009.

The reboot of the franchise stars Gabriel Belmont, a member of a holy order dedicated to defeating supernatural threats. Gabriel’s wife is brutally murdered by something supernatural, trapping her soul in limbo. Gabriel then begins a quest to defeat the three Lords of Shadow to obtain the pieces of the God Mask, a relic with the ability to bring back the dead.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow made a huge splash at E3 with its revamped controls and gameplay, plus it managed to breathe life back into a beloved, but stagnating series.  Check out our hands-on impression from E3, and look for this game in October on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Warning: This trailer may not be suitable for all ages.

A big shadowy monster.

It's been more than 10 years since the last Silent Hill title, but Konami has finally broken its silence. Based on the trailer and a few additional details that were laid out, it is clear that every one of the upcoming games will be taking the series in their own direction. However, Silent Hill Ascension still has people scratching their heads -- and not in a good way. While we can't clear up everything right now, here's everything we do know about Silent Hill Ascension.

Silent Hill fans were given more than they bargained for in October 2022. Konami hosted a Silent Hill showcase where they revealed not just one but four games in the works (along with another feature film). Outside of the Silent Hill 2 remake, the three other games are all brand-new entries in the acclaimed horror franchise. Out of all of those announcements, the one that many consider the most exciting is the mysteriously titled Silent Hill f.

While no game shown off in the showcase had more than either a teaser or short trailer, the look we got at Silent Hill f, plus some extra details that have come out, make it stand out as a major departure from the series in some very curious ways. Just like the titular town itself, Silent Hill f is hiding most of its details behind a thick layer of fog. For everything we do know about this horror title, here's a breakdown of what's been shared.
