When the Xbox One is released on November 22, one of the games that is likely to be among the most popular launch titles is Forza Motorsport 5. The pedigree and the history of the series make it a reliable choice for fans that enjoy racing games, so it is a fairly safe bet. And yet we haven’t actually seen much in terms of the actual gameplay – until now.
With the release of both the new system and the game itself, Microsoft and Turn 10 are beginning the ratchet up the promotion for Forza 5. Expect to hear plenty more about it in the weeks to come, but for now, check out the first direct feed for the game in the video below.
The clip shows a Pagani Huayra whipping around the Bernese Alps circuit at 1080p resolution and 60 fps. The new physics at work are difficult to appreciate without playing the game, but you can get a sense of how the new graphics engine is going to look.
Along with the video, Microsoft also confirmed a few details of how the game will be set up. The campaign will feature eight separate leagues, with “each league covering a special ‘genre’ of car (such as supercars, vintage, sports compacts, and more).” This breaks from the age-old racing game convention of starting players in buckets and having them work their way up to cars that only professional athletes and oil tycoons are typically seen in. Each career mode will also feature an introduction from the hosts of Top Gear.
