Are you looking for a camera bag that’s as fashionable as it is functional? If so, the 48Hr Switch might be just the bag you’re looking for.
Designed to be as good-looking as it is versatile, the 48hr Switch is a new backpack currently being funded on Kickstarter. It’s capable of switching between being a backpack and a messenger-style briefcase.
Already, 48Hr Switch has doubled its $37,000 goal, and it still has 33 days to go.
The concept behind the hybrid bag is to offer a professional-looking camera bag that belongs as much in the office as it does the streets. By using a series of strategically placed attachment points, the 48Hr switch can go from being a backpack with padded straps to a messenger bag with a handle and shoulder strap.
Inside, the bag offers padded compartments for laptops and phones, as well as a modular hook-and-loop organization system for storing your camera gear. For times when you need a little more storage, the bag is expandable, which gives it 70 percent more internal volume.
You won’t be able to fit a pro-style body in the bag, but you should have no problem fitting a DSLR with an attached lens and up to three other lenses. On top of the camera organization compartment, there’s room for extra clothes or accessories.
Each 48Hr Switch bag is handcrafted from full grain leather and 20oz cotton canvas with polished YKK zippers and all metal hardware. Currently, there are five different models available, including two all-leather versions and three canvas versions with leather details.
The canvas version is available with a pledge of $186, while the leather models will set you back $243. The first bags are expected to ship in April 2017. To find out more and secure your bag, head on over to the Kickstarter campaign.
