Latest ‘PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ update lets you scoot in style

PUBG - New Sanhok Vehicle - Scooter

It can get a little boring to traverse PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on foot or in one of the game’s many cars and motorcycles, but the latest updates give you a whole new way to avoid the encroaching force field — you’ll just look a little silly while you ride it.

PC players who start up PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will now be able to use a scooter on the small Sanhok map, the game’s developer revealed in an update post on Steam. The scooter has the same durability as the two-seat motorbike already available on the map, but it has a higher turning radius and a lower speed. In a pinch, however, it might be what you need to escape danger and live to fight another day. You’ll be able to find the scooter in a variety of colors, including salmon, beige, and teal.

Also added in the update was the new Beryl M762 assault rifle, which can be found on all three maps. As the name suggests, the rifle makes use of 7.62 ammunition — also used in the AK and several sniper rifles — and comes with a 30-round magazine by default.

“It has lower per-bullet-damage than the AKM, but a higher firing rate, meaning higher [damage per second] if you can control the kick,” the post added.

If you’ve been struggling to find success in battle royale and want to practice before fighting live players, you’ll soon have a new option. As part of the Fix PUBG campaign, PUBG Corporation is adding a training mode to the game. Taking place on a small 2 x 2-kilometer map, the mode lets you practice your parachuting, drive vehicles, and fire against both stationary and moving targets. You’ll also have access to a wide variety of equipment, as well as stunt ramps to get some sick air in cars or boats. No firm release data has been set for the mode yet, but the team is shooting for some point in September.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC and Xbox One. It will exit the Xbox Preview program on the latter program September 4, and is also available for free on iOS and Android as PUBG Mobile.

Fortnite update’s Shadow Bomb turns you into an invisible and nimble ninja
Fortnite v 8.51 version update patch Shadow Bomb battle royale invisible

Survival is the name of the game in Fortnite battle royale, and players are about to get their hands on a tool that increases their chances a great deal. Update v8.51 includes the debut of the Shadow Bomb, a grenade that makes the user invisible and increases movement capabilities.
Shadow Bomb sneaking
The new Shadow Bomb covers the player in darkness, making them invisible to other players temporarily. It also increases the player’s movement speed and allows them to double-jump. The effect lasts six seconds and starts to wear off slightly as time passes, becoming more visible. You can’t attack, build, or loot while hidden, but this provides you an opportunity to escape a dangerous situation or even aggressively move against an enemy in Fortnite's battle royale mode. With the update downloaded, the Shadow Bomb can be found as floor loot or in chests, supply drops, and supply llamas.
The Duet sings in Save the World
Fortnite players that jump into the Save the World mode can serenade enemies with a new weapon introduced in version 8.51. The Duet is a dual-barrel assault rifle that deals out high damage and maintains its fire with a large-capacity magazine. It’s only available for a limited time, though, so players will want to grab the Duet before it goes away on May 8 at 5 p.m. PT.

A Creative new dish
Creative mode gets the new Shadow Bomb as well as diner prefabs based on restaurants seen around Fortnite battle royale. The new buildings are the Durr Burger, Uncle Pete’s Pizza Pit, and SofDeez Ice Cream Shop. These prefabs open up the options to create food-theme spaces for players, and the update also includes four diner galleries.
Bug Fixes in v8.51
The list of bug fixes in version 8.51 of Fortnite is light this time around. Gameplay in battle royale is updated with a change to the sound effects for jetpacks, which were playing louder than they should have. The victory royale animation was also displaying for all limited-time modes with respawning, and that has been fixed as well. If you’ve been having any problems with adding suggested friends to your friends' list, that bug has been squashed as well.

PS5 Pro: news, rumored release date, price, and specs
A PS5 standing on a table, with purple lights around it.

Rumors are running rampant about a supposed PlayStation 5 Pro, or PS5 Pro for short. Just like we got a mid-generation upgrade with the PS4 Pro  during the last console cycle, many people are expecting PlayStation to release an incrementally more powerful machine to bridge the gap between the launch unit and an eventual PlayStation 6. Leaks have been coming out from some fairly credible sources, with a lot of juicy and very specific details about what a hypothetical PS5 Pro could look like. As credible as these sources may be, we do still need to take everything we see with some skepticism until Sony officially confirms that this system even exists. Until then, here are all the rumors out there regarding the PS5 Pro.
Rumored release window

A constant release window that all leaks have pointed to is sometime in Fall of 2024. That's right around the corner, probably in the September through November range, meaning we should be getting an official announcement on the console if that is indeed the plan. It appears that PS5 Pro dev kits are now in the hands of more developers, who have been asked that PS5 Pro-enhanced games be submitted for certification in August. These developments point toward a 2024 release.
