The Bethesda Softworks-published survival horror title The Evil Within, from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and his studio, Tango Gameworks, will be released a week earlier than expected. The game follows the story of Sebastian Castellenos, a detective who gets caught up in a grotesque, supernatural world while investigating a mass murder.  The Evil Within aims to return to the fundamentals of the survival horror genre, a genre that Shinji Mikami helped pioneer with the original Resident Evil, by balancing action with tension-filled puzzle-solving. For more details on the game, check out our recent preview.

So get ready to be scared this October, when The Evil Within lands on PC and PlayStation/Xbox consoles.

ROG Strix G18 (2026) laptop

Asus has started rolling out the 2026 ROG Strix G18 globally, and the easiest way to describe it is as a slightly toned-down version of the ridiculous ROG Strix Scar 18. It keeps the same 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor but tops out at an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU instead of the Scar’s RTX 5090. (via Notebookcheck)
