The Bethesda Softworks-published survival horror title The Evil Within, from Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami and his studio, Tango Gameworks, will be released a week earlier than expected. The date had been October 21, but now the game will arrive in North America on October 14, Australia on October 16 and Europe on October 18, as the game’s official Twitter feed confirms.
The game follows the story of Sebastian Castellenos, a detective who gets caught up in a grotesque, supernatural world while investigating a mass murder. The Evil Within aims to return to the fundamentals of the survival horror genre, a genre that Shinji Mikami helped pioneer with the original Resident Evil, by balancing action with tension-filled puzzle-solving. So get ready to be scared this October, when The Evil Within lands on PC and PlayStation/Xbox consoles.
