From the campfire to the bike trail, take your music anywhere with NYNE’s new speakers

The Bluetooth speaker specialists at NYNE are taking the company’s penchant for making hardcore hardware up a notch. NYNE has revealed three new rugged speakers to add to its robust IPX Adventure Series lineup with rugged names to match, including the Edge, the Verge, and the Rock. All of the new speakers will make their debut next week at CES 2015 in Las Vegas.

You know you’ve struck the proper tone of toughness for your speakers when two of the three names have served as titles for Hollywood action flicks. The Rock is the company’s big boy speaker, aimed specifically at providing a soundtrack for “camping trips, bonfires, and outdoor parties.” The speaker’s hefty $300 price tag buys 5 active drivers including dual tweeters, dual midrange drivers, and an active woofer juiced by 50 watts of total power. The speaker also offers a heavy exterior shell, a built-in carrying handle, and water resistance with an IPX3 rating (it can take a spray, but don’t douse it).

The Edge and Verge speakers are both designed to ride along with you on your next cycling trip, with the choice between the two dependent upon how much power (and weight) you want to pack along. Both the Edge and the more compact Verge are IPX5-rated for water resistance (rain will be no problem whatsoever), and both also include handlebar mounting and even a strobe-style LED light so you can strap one on and ride at any hour. The Edge and Verge are priced at $160 and $120 respectively.

In addition to their rugged designs, all of NYNE’s new speakers offer an ample stable of features including up to 12 hours of battery runtime, a 3.5mm Aux input, NFC one-touch pairing for compatible devices, and a built-in speakerphone.

We liked what we heard from NYNE’s Bass speaker last year — especially for the price — so we’re expecting good things from these latest additions. As mentioned, the speakers will be premiered next week at CES, and are slated to arrive in the US during the second quarter of 2015.

Insignia 50-inch F30 LED 4K Smart TV — $220, was $300

Insignia's low cost TV just got even cheaper. It's got the standard LED display that you're probably used to if you last bought a TV some years ago, but also has a 4K resolution, smart capabilities, and a large 50-inch screen. In other words, this is a fantastic way to upgrade or replace your aging TV for about the same cost (or less) than you paid for it. If you're wanting a TV, but don't want to pay too much, this is a no-brainer.
