U2 track pack out now for Rock Band 4, including hits One and Vertigo

More U2 tracks coming to Rock Band 4!
Harmonix’s Rock Band 4 gets a collection of Irish band U2’s biggest hits this week as downloadable content, including chart-topping favorites like One and Sunday Bloody Sunday.

U2’s add-on songs, priced at $2 apiece, feature playable guitar, bass, drum, and vocal charts compatible with Rock Band 4 instrument peripherals. Players can take on these songs solo or in a group with local bandmates manning each instrument.

Rock Band 4‘s “U2 Essentials 01” pack includes the following tracks:

  • Sunday Bloody Sunday from U2’s 1983 album War
  • Pride (In The Name Of Love) from 1984’s The Unforgettable Fire
  • Where The Streets Have No Name from 1987’s The Joshua Tree
  • Desire from 1988’s Rattle and Hum
  • One from 1992’s Achtung Baby
  • Vertigo, the lead track on 2004’s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
  • California (There Is No End To Love) from 2014’s Songs of Innocence
  • The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone), also off of Songs of Innocence

Featured tracks can be purchased individually or as an 8-pack priced at $13.50. All tracks are playable across all of Rock Band 4‘s featured gameplay modes, and all include Freestyle Guitar Solo gameplay segments where applicable.

Rock Band 4 marked the first series appearance for several popular bands and artists, including Van Halen with Panama and Cake with Short Skirt/Long Jacket. Many of these artists will receive additional DLC tracks in the future; Van Halen hosted its own exclusive track pack in November, offering up popular favorites like Hot for Teacher and Runnin’ with the Devil.

Track collecting and curation play a large role in the Rock Band experience. Players can import thousands of songs purchased from previous Rock Band games and play them in Rock Band 4, and a disc import option for Rock Band 3‘s tracklist was introduced in a recent update. Disc imports for Rock Band 2, Lego Rock Band, and other legacy series entries will be available starting in 2016.

Rock Band 4 is available now for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Apple hosted a special livestream event at the San Jose Convention Center during the company’s annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC). During the event, Apple revealed that the upcoming game subscription service Apple Arcade will feature support for the Xbox One controller and PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4.

Google Stadia isn’t the only new gaming platform coming in 2019. Apple Arcade will be released in the fall but, unlike Stadia, it is not a cloud streaming platform. With Apple Arcade, gamers will be using a connection to download the games in full but you won’t need an active connection to play. The platform will feature exclusive games that Apple has reportedly invested more than $500 million to obtain and a subscription will get you and five other users access to those titles. You can access the Apple Arcade platform via an iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
