Anyone keeping count? ‘Mighty No. 9’ has been delayed again on Xbox 360

Mighty No. 9 has been delayed so often that it’s difficult to believe that the game is finally in the hands of players. Initially scheduled to launch almost a year ago, the game was then moved to February before settling on a June 21 release date. But if you want to play Keiji Inafune’s latest creation on Xbox 360, you’re going to have to wait a bit longer.

Citing “issues regarding the publishing process” on Xbox 360 and a certification bug spotted “in the final round of testing,” developer Comcept says that game will be delayed by only “a few days if all goes according to plan,” and that a new build has already been submitted to both publisher Deep Silver and Microsoft for a second round of testing. The Mac and Linux versions of Mighty No. 9 have also been held back, but these are planned for launch very shortly as well.

If you have a somewhat-capable PC — given the game’s horrid visuals, it shouldn’t take much — you’ll still be able to play the game while you wait for the Xbox 360 version. Kickstarter backers who chose the 360 as their preferred platform are now being sent Steam keys, though the lack of connectivity between Steam and Xbox 360 means you’re going to have to start all over again should you choose to switch to the console.

While fans hoped for a true successor to Mega Man, as Capcom has not released information on a true sequel for several years, early impressions suggest something very different. The average user score for the game on Metacritic is only 3.2/10, and multiple players negatively compared the game to Inafune’s previous work on the Mega Man series.

Mighty No. 9 is out now on current-gen consoles, PlayStation 3, and PC. We’ll have our full review up later this week.

AI-powered game development has recently been blamed for flooding app stores with low-effort mobile games, but every now and then, the technology produces a far more interesting result. Google lead product and design executive Ammar Reshi says he used Fable 5 to port Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour to the iPhone and iPad.

This is not an emulator or a cloud-streamed version. According to Reshi’s GitHub page, the actual 2003 game engine has been compiled natively for ARM64 and runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The project uses EA’s GPL source release and builds on existing community work, while adding the iOS and iPadOS port.

Prototypist Keyboy Advance, a Gameboy Advanced inspired keyboard

For many people who grew up in the early 2000s, the Game Boy Advance was the handheld they carried everywhere. The Keyboy Advance is trying to bring some of that nostalgia to a modern desk, using the wide, landscape-style silhouette of Nintendo’s 2001 handheld as the basis for a compact mechanical keyboard kit. It is not an official Nintendo product, but the visual references are easy to spot.
