Will they or won’t they? If Microsoft knows, it’s keeping shtumm for the moment. That’s about the possibility of a Family Pack – meaning one copy of the software could be installed on three computers – for its upcoming Windows 7 OS in the UK.
Most of the world is set to get a Family Pack, but just last Friday the company said it won’t be offered in the UK because the Family Pack is essentially an upgrade, and it will be 2010 before Windows 7 E, the browserless version of Windows 7, arrives.
However, Microsoft has also said it’s dropped the idea of Windows 7 E, which it only floated to satisfy the EU, which hasn’t seem too bothered about the idea in the end.
So, for those in the UK planning on purchasing Windows 7, it’s a case of watch this space.
