Lenovo Yoga C940 15 review: The do-it-all 2-in-1?

Lenovo's Yoga C940 15 seeks to bring big-time power to the 2-in-1 form factor. It succeeds in terms of processor performance, rivaling the fastest clamshell laptops with Intel's Core i9. The Nvidia GTX 1650 brings mid-range gaming, while battery life and display quality are concerns. It could be better.

HP Envy 13 (2019) review

The HP Envy 13 seeks to bring much of the quality, performance, and good looks of the company’s Spectre line at reduced prices. And that’s exactly what it does, along with a lovely 4K display and some light gaming chops.

Lenovo Yoga C630 review

Lenovo’s Yoga C630 is a member of the second wave of Windows 10 on ARM laptops built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 850 system-on-chip. The Yoga lasts long on a charge and it’s a delightfully designed and well-built laptop, but it’s still too slow for more than basic tasks.

HP Spectre Folio review

The Spectre Folio is a truly different breed of notebook, leather-wrapped and exceedingly long-lasting on a charge. It feels great in the hand and provides all-day productivity performance. We can quibble and talk about a too-small Synaptics touchpad, but that’s all we got.

Microsoft Surface Book 3 (13-inch) review: A portable powerhouse

The Surface Book 3 doubles down on Microsoft's performance objectives for the line, offering a fast CPU and discrete GPU that make it a strong 13-inch offering.
HP Spectre x360 13 (late 2018)

HP Spectre x360 13 (2019) review

HP’s updated Spectre x360 13 is dubbed the “gem-cut” for a reason. It looks like a gem cutter went to work on the chassis, and its many angles catch the light and look great. It’s also fast, well-built, and lasts a long time on a single charge. Check out our full HP Spectre x360 13-inch review.

Asus Chromebook Flip C434

Asus ChromeBook Flip C434 review

The Asus Chromebook Flip C434 is a very well-built and attractive laptop for its price. It’s more than fast enough for Chrome OS, has a great keyboard and touchpad, and it offers all-day battery life. It’s a little expensive overall, but it’s worth it.
Asus ZenBook S13

Asus ZenBook S13 UX392 review

The Asus ZenBook S13 is one of the smallest 14-inch class laptops around, and it’s the “world’s slimmest laptop with MX150 graphics.” That’s not just hyperbole – this is a strong performer in a tiny package. Battery life is a bit of a letdown, however.

HP Spectre x360 15 (2019) review

HP’s 2019 Spectre x360 15 brings this massive 2-in-1 up to speed, literally. It now equips the same six-core Intel CPU as the rest of the 15-inch field, along with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q for some 1080p gaming.

Dell's Inspiron 27 7790 might not be a gaming PC in the traditional sense, but it still delivers a terrific gaming experience for console gamers who need a desktop for productivity work. Dell’s Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is the world’s smallest 360-degree convertible with a 14-inch display. It’s made for business users, but consumers with fat wallets will like its features and battery life – and they won’t have to sacrifice performance along the way.

Senior Editor, Computing

Luke Larsen is a Senior Editor at Digital Trends and manages all content covering laptops, Macs, monitors, PC hardware, and peripherals. Around here we call it “computing,” but here’s a good rule of thumb: If it’s a computer or something that plugs into a computer, you found your guy. Oh, and these days, AI too. So much AI.

After getting a degree in music from the University of Oregon, Luke started his career in media hoping to get into music journalism. But when the opportunity arose, he landed in tech and hasn’t looked back since. He has over a decade of tech journalism experience, first joining Digital Trends in 2017 as a native Portlander, happy to join a tech media company that called his city home. Before working at DT, he worked as Tech Editor at Paste Magazine for over four years and has bylines at publications such as IGN, TouchArcade (RIP), and The Oregonian.

In his years at Digital Trends so far, Luke has covered high-profile industry events such as CES, IFA, and Microsoft Build, delivering on-the-ground coverage, breaking news, and first-hand reporting. He’s hosted countless YouTube videos, made podcast appearances, and written over 600 articles.

Some of his earliest tech memories include learning HTML through his MySpace account and trying to play Baldur’s Gate II on his parents’ dusty old beige box. These days, his obsession with technology is in telling stories with tech — in finding the narratives that ebb and flow through both technological advancement and product design, trickling right on down to our day-to-day experience of it. He is convinced that we all spend too much of our time using technology and not enough time thinking about it — cue a healthy dose of navel-gazing and philosophizing.

When he’s not endlessly debating what the best laptop is, Luke spends his days being a dad and a husband. Oh, and when there’s time (which there isn’t), he’s an avid fiction writer, player of designer board games, and still occasionally makes some music.
