Elden Ring studio sends the game’s own personal superhero a real sword

Legendary Elden Ring player Let Me Solo Her has received an award from Bandai Namco for beating Malenia over 1,000 times.

Malenia is an optional boss that is easily considered the most difficult in Elden Ring. One player, known as Let Me Solo Her, has been lending their support to struggling players by completing the fight for them. Not only does this player take on this extremely powerful boss, but they do so wearing no armor and with just a pot on their head. They pledged to help as many fellow players as possible in their quest to beat Malenia.

After months of soloing this boss, Let Me Solo Her, aka KleinTsuboi on Twitter, was given a package of rewards directly from Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco for their achievement. This package includes a congratulatory note from the team, a cloak, cloth map, and even a sword with the words “Rise, Tarnished” engraved on the blade.

Klein would go on to recount their own difficulty with the Souls games, nearly quitting at Iudex Gundyr in Dark Souls 3, but also passing on thanks to the support of the community. They thank several other prominent Souls content creators and community members for inspiring them, including VaatiVidya, IronPineapple, Zullie the Witch, and more.

For most players, simply overcoming Malenia once is a task that can take hours, even with help. The fact that Let Me Solo Her was not only able to master this fight so completely that they could do it with nothing but a jar on their head is one thing, but to be so dedicated to helping the community as to have over 1,000 confirmed boss kills is certainly worth recognition.

Elden Ring developer’s next game is Armored Core VI

Armored Core is back. FromSoftware, the developer of Elden Ring, is working on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The upcoming sequel was announced Thursday night during The Game Awards 2022 via a short cinematic trailer. It's gearing up to launch sometime in 2023.

Elden Ring’s first significant post-launch content is a PvP Colosseum

Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware have confirmed that multiple PvP Colosseums will be added to Elden Ring as part of an update on December 7.
Although Elden Ring is the best-selling and most critically acclaimed game of 2022, its post-launch patches have primarily been focused on balance tweaks and bug fixes. Update 1.08, which drops on December 7, changes that by adding a new way for players to duel each other. Colosseums will now appear in Limgrave, Leyndell, and Caelid, where players can face off against each other. There will be three match types: 1v1 duels, 3v3 team fights, and free-for-alls where only one player can come out on top.
The update will be free to Elden Ring owners across all platforms, and a new trailer gives us a look at these new arenas and the fights that take place within them.

The Colosseums look like fun places for players to test new character builds, show their builds off to others, and test their skills against really experienced players. It seems like this is strictly PvP-focused content though, so players yearning for more single-player content of DLC won't be satiated just yet. Still, this is one of our first very clear indications that FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment are interested in adding significant, brand-new content to Elden Ring, which is a good sign.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The Colosseums will be added as part of Elden Ring Update 1.08, which is set to release on December 7.
