Fortnite challenge guide: Drive a car through the cornfield at Steel Farm

After you’ve completed the Fortnite season 5, week 8 challenge for destroying tomato boxes at The Orchard Farmers Market, you’ll be able to start stage 2. To complete stage 2, you need to drive a car through the cornfield near Steel Farm — an area that is not marked on the map. Since it’s unmarked, you might be unsure of where to go. Or, maybe you’re simply having trouble finding a nearby vehicle.

Either way, this guide will show you how to complete it as easily as possible. Here’s how to drive a car through the cornfield at Steel Farm in Fortnite.

The first thing you should do is grab a vehicle so you can drive it to your destination. Steel Farm is just east of Colossal Coliseum, so you’ll want to land somewhere in the vicinity to grab some wheels. From our experience, the best spot to find a vehicle is at the bridge to the southeast of Colossal Coliseum. The image above shows a great location where there is often more than one vehicle to choose from. Pick the one with the most gas before heading to your destination.

If you can’t find one there, you can try the gas station just north of that. There’s often at least one vehicle there as well, so give it a try if need be. Once you’ve got a ride, head to Steel Farm, which is just north of that. We’ll show you its exact location below.

Steel Farm is located on the north side of the island you’re on and features a barn and the aforementioned cornfield next to it. Drive north from where you landed, and the cornfield will appear on the right side. Drive through the corn to complete the challenge.

On our attempt, the challenge didn’t complete as soon as we drove into the field. We had to drive through several sections of corn to get it to work. Just keep driving around, and it’ll eventually unlock. It’s unclear how many sections you need to drive through to trigger the completion, so just keep driving until you get the notification. It’s also worth noting that if another player manages to beat you to this location and destroy all the corn before you, you’ll need to attempt it again. So keep that in mind. But from our experience, this area wasn’t busy at all.

Once you do destroy enough corn, you’ll gain 20,000 XP, and you’ll be ready for the final stage of the farm-related quests. The next one is similar to stage 2, in that it requires you to drive a vehicle to a specific location — though it’s a little tougher than this challenge.

Fortnite is cutting down on item FOMO with new store change
The TMNT Fortnite skins. We have all four turtles in fighting poses in front of a purple background.

Fortnite practically runs on FOMO (fear of missing out). if you don't get the item you want in a battle pass, you'll most likely never get the chance again. So if you wanted to run around as Goku and missed when the excellent skin was available? Tough luck.

But that policy is changing soon. Developer Epic Games announced in a blog post that items could be made available in the Shop 18 months after their respective battle passes expired at the least. That includes alt styles, which might also come to the Shop, along with licensed outfits you may have missed out on. This also applies to items that may have been unlocked after a battle pass launch.

Fortnite is no stranger to real-world crossovers, and the Tesla Cybertruck's arrival to the game on Tuesday is just the latest.

Epic Games teased the collaboration on Sunday with just the image of a tire tread and a cutoff Cybertruck logo. Then the studio released a small trailer on Monday with Fishstick successfully towing other in-game vehicles.
