For those in the U.S., international football is referred to as soccer. Major League Soccer (MLS) is celebrating its 30th season this year. Once again, Apple TV holds the streaming rights to MLS and is the official home of the MLS Season Pass.

The anniversary season is already shaping up to be exciting. In addition to special events and commemorative activities throughout the year, the season will feature the debut of the 30th club. The all-new San Diego FC will showcase Hirving “Chucky” Lozano as its star player, making it an interesting team to watch as it enters the league.

Established teams like LAFC, Seattle Sounders FC, and Inter Miami CF are expected to be strong contenders this season, and they are actively enhancing their rosters.

Furthermore, thanks to new coaches and player acquisitions, some teams that may have underperformed in previous seasons are anticipated to return.

In celebration of the 30th season, Apple, in collaboration with MLS, has created custom Apple TV logos for each of the 30 teams, which will be featured on the players’ kits.

Overall, the 2025 MLS season is one of the most exciting yet. It will introduce a new expansion team, big-name players, and heightened competition. Soccer fans definitely won’t want to miss it!

What is the MLS Season Pass?

MLS Season Pass is a subscription service that provides access to every game played during the current season, including regular and playoff games. There are no blackout restrictions; you can share your subscription with up to six members of your Apple Family Plan.

The service includes coverage of Major League Soccer matches and the Leagues Cup, an annual tournament featuring teams from MLS and Mexico’s Liga MX. You can also access MLS NEXT and MLS NEXT Pro developmental matches.

To use an MLS Season Pass subscription, you’ll need access to the Apple TV app. This is distinct from Apple TV, which is the hardware device, and Apple TV+, which is the premium content network featuring shows like Severance, Silo, and Shrinking. If you can connect to the internet, you can access the Apple TV app, which means you can enjoy the MLS Season Pass.

The MLS Season Pass is primarily about the games, but it offers much more than that. You’ll find in-depth coverage of every team, allowing you to explore your favorite club or rival team if that’s more your style. There will be news updates, game highlights, interviews, and features on players.

And, of course, there will be games and replays.

To attract more subscribers, not every match will require an MLS Season Pass subscription. Some matches will be available for free. This includes every game during the first week of competition and other free matches throughout the season.

How much does the MLS Season Pass cost?

The pricing breakdown for MLS Season Pass is pretty simple and is similar to what Apple charged in 2024.

  • $15 a month or $99 a season if you’re not a subscriber to Apple TV+
  • $13 a month or $80 a season if you subscribe to Apple TV+

There’s also a limited-time promotion available to T-Mobile customers. Through March 4, you can get a free MLS Season Pass subscription.

For folks who don’t want to commit to an entire season of MLS Season Pass, you can purchase your membership every month (see above) or wait until mid-season. At that point, Apple will likely drop the price for the rest of the season.

If you have a season ticket account with an MLS team, you’ll get a free subscription to MLS Season Pass.

Do you have to have an Apple device to watch?

Apple holds the rights to stream MLS games, but you don’t need to own an Apple device to watch them. The Apple TV app is available on nearly all modern media devices. This includes iPhones, iPads, and popular streaming platforms like Roku and Amazon Fire TV. You can also find the Apple TV app on Android TV, Google TV, PlayStation, Xbox, various smart TV systems, Comcast Xfinity, and other set-top boxes.

If these options aren’t suitable, you can access Apple TV through a web browser at tv.apple.com.

To subscribe, you must create an Apple ID, which is how the subscription will be managed.

Is the MLS Season Pass available in 4K?

Unfortunately, you won’t have the option to watch MLS Season Pass in 4K resolution; it will be capped at 1080p. However, the MLS Season Pass 2025 will feature select on-demand content available in 4K resolution, while live game broadcasts will continue to be in 1080p with Dolby 5.1 audio.

Can you watch MLS Season Pass with multiview?

One of the most exciting features of streaming sports is multiview. While it’s not an entirely new concept, it is cundoubtedlya welcome addition.

If you’re using an Apple TV 4K box—our top pick for the best streaming hardware available—to watch the MLS Season Pass, you can enjoy watching multiple games simultaneously through multiview. The Apple TV 4K also supports this feature for Major League Baseball. You can watch up to four matches simultaneously in a split-screen format and choose which audio feed you want to listen to. Additionally, you have the flexibility to select which games to watch concurrently.

Pardon the sports pun, but this feature is a game-changer for sports in general and the MLS Season Pass in particular.

What other shows are on MLS Season Pass?

An MLS Season Pass subscription offers access to a diverse range of content that goes beyond just live games, including:

  • Extensive Match Coverage: Every live MLS regular season match, Audi MLS Cup Playoff matches, Leagues Cup matches, the Campeones Cup, and the MLS All-Star game, all available with no blackouts.
  • On-Demand Content: Full match replays, highlights, and analyses.
  • Original Programming: Exclusive shows, documentaries, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • MLS 360: A live whip-around show that simultaneously provides updates and highlights from multiple matches.
  • Pre-Match and Post-Match Coverage: In-depth analysis and commentary before and after games.
  • Spanish-Language Commentary: Access to commentary and analysis in Spanish.

Where else can you watch MLS games?

You won’t have to miss out on MLS games if you don’t have the MLS Season Pass. Channels like Fox and FS1 will still air some matches. For example, you can watch the season opener between Seattle and LAFC on February 24, broadcast on Fox.

Lenovo brings Bose-tuned Yoga headphones to the US and they don’t cost a fortune
Lenovo has a sub-$200 Bose-tuned headset for anyone glued to a Yoga laptop

Lenovo is entering the crowded noise-cancelling headphone market with a pair priced just a penny shy of $200. Called the Headphone Yoga PC Edition, they combine Bose-tuned audio, ANC, and a design built to complement the company’s Yoga laptops.

Initially announced at CES 2026, the Cosmic Blue version is now available directly from Lenovo in the US. The headphones are designed to complement Yoga PCs, although Bluetooth 5.3 and a 3.5mm input allow them to work with phones, tablets, and computers from other brands.

Stop joining group projects with a blurry laptop webcam and buy one of these instead
Your laptop webcam is sabotaging your first impression. These five can fix it
I'm holding my Logitech C920 1080p webcam in my hands.

The webcam built into your laptop might be good enough for a quick call with friends and family. But its shortcomings become much harder to ignore when you are presenting a semester project, interviewing for an internship, or maybe if you're planning to stream for fun.

Laptop cameras also tend to sit far too low, especially when the computer is placed directly on a desk. Meanwhile, a dedicated webcam lets you position the camera closer to eye level. This improves the framing and brings larger sensors, better microphones, and more effective low-light processing.

I desperately want a new classic Walkman, but Sony probably can’t give me one
Tech minimalism is begging for a new Walkman. Though rebuilding it may be close to impossible
Sony Walkman WM2011

Every few months, another piece of tech that seems obsolete crawls out of a drawer and becomes cool again. The age of minimalism has revived the popularity of iPods among younger buyers. Dumbphones have become an escape hatch from endless notifications. Similarly, digital cameras are dangling from bags again. Physical media keeps attracting people who want something they can actually hold instead of another frustrating subscription.

All of this makes it the perfect time for Sony to bring back the classic Walkman, which was a phenomenon during the 80s and 90s. I would love one. Give me a compact cassette player, physical buttons, and wired headphones. Keep the apps, notifications, and algorithms that shape your taste of music. No more AI assistants or personalzied feeds, just you and your Walkman. There is only one problem though. Recreating the Walkman that people love and remember, would be far harder than putting an old design back into production.
