Amazon has a jaw-dropping deal on a renewed Roomba 860 robot vacuum

Amazon just made a 40% price cut on an already heavily discounted certified refurbished iRobot Roomba 860 a premium-level robot vacuum.

The Roomba 860’s cleaning head automatically adjusts to various types of flooring as it moves from hard floors to carpeting and back, so the robot vac’s brushes can clean effectively and efficiently. With five times the power of base Roomba models, the 860 has a 3-stage cleaning system with power-lifting suction, a side sweeping brush, and tangle-free multi-surface brushes to suck up dog hair and embedded dirt and debris. If you’re in the market for a Roomba with premium features, this deal can help you save up to $180 on an Amazon certified unit that’s already $149 less than a new Roomba 860. Your potential savings compared to buying a new Roomba 860 could be up to $329.

You can schedule the Roomba 860 to clean rooms up to seven times a week or just press the big “Clean” button on the top of the vacuum. When the 860’s battery runs low, the robot vac returns to its docking station to recharge. This model also has a full bin indicator, so you don’t have to keep checking.

The Roomba 860 also comes with a Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier so you can control where it cleans. In Virtual Wall Mode, you can close off whole sections of an open floor plan. Halo Mode is useful for keeping the vacuum away from pet dishes or other items you’d prefer not to have bumped while the vacuum is cleaning your floors.

Short enough to fit under most furniture, the Roomba 860 uses iRobot’s iAdapt Responsive Navigation to avoid walls, furniture, and items on the floor and to stop when it detects a drop off so it won’t be damaged by falling down stairs.

Factory re-manufactured and certified electronics devices can be excellent buys, similar to buying a dealership certified used car. I’ve done both, purchased a certified used car and re-manufactured electronics including computers, keyboards, and printers, saving a considerable amount of money.

In addition to Amazon’s standard return policy, the refurbished Roomba 860 comes with a 90-day refund or replacement warranty if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

New Roomba 860’s sell for $599 and certified refurbished models normally sell for $450. This deal cuts the price to $270 while the sale lasts. If you’ve been shopping for the right deal on a powerful Roomba robot vacuum, this is an excellent opportunity.

How to reboot and factory reset a Roomba vacuum
the only robot vacuums worthyour attention today prime day 2020 roomba i7

Roombas are indispensable once you're used to them, making it a breeze to keep your home's floors clean and tidy. But as with any piece of technology, they can experience some issues over time. If you've run into a problem then you can fix many issues with a Roomba by either rebooting or reseting it. Here we'll show you how to do either of these maneuvers to keep your Roomba working as good as new.
Two different types of reset for Roomba
Rebooting your Roomba will power it down and then re-power it. If you're finding your Roomba isn't connecting to Wi-Fi, or there's some other type of glitch, that's a good time to reboot it. With a reboot, all of your Roomba's companion app data (logins, saved maps, user preferences) will still be available once your robot vacuum returns to life.

If you're looking to get rid of your Roomba or are having some deeper-seated issues that a simple reboot can't remedy, you may need to perform a full factory reset of your bot. This step will essentially return your Roomba to its out-of-the-box defaults and remove all user data from both the bot and the companion app.

Eureka shows off an innovative robot vacuum with a belt mopping system at CES 2024
A view of the bottom of the Eureka J20 robot vacuum.

When it comes to robot vacuums and mops, most models employ one of two methods to clean your floors -- a vibrating mop plate or spinning mop pads. Eureka is doing things a bit differently this year, as the team revealed the J20 Robotic Vacuum and Floor Washer at CES 2024, which uses an innovative new belt mop design.

The so-called RollRenew mopping system features a cycling belt mop, a dual water tank, and five water nozzles. As the robot rolls its mop across your floors, the nozzles will continuously spray water, cleaning up stains and soaking up spills. The dirty portion of the mop is then cleaned by a scraper located under the robot, forcing the dirty water into a wastewater reservoir.

Eufy shows off four security cameras and an upcoming robot vacuum
The Eufy X10 Pro Omni in a living room.

Eufy is a big name in the smart home space, and it had plenty of cool gadgets to show off at CES 2024. Along with giving consumers a closer look at four recently launched security cameras, Eufy revealed the X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop, which looks to be an affordable alternative to flagships from Roborock and Ecovacs.

The X10 Pro Omni doesn't make any huge innovations in the world of robot vacuums. Most of its features we've already seen on other robots, such as its ability to empty its dustbin, clean its mop, then dry it to prevent the accumulation of mildew. It also boasts an avoidance system to ensure it's not bumping into any shoes, toys, or other items that have accidentally been left in its path. And while its 8,000 Pa of suction is impressive, it's a number a handful of other robots have already hit.
