Pictures: The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket now comes in white

Haven’t you heard? White’s the new black. We’ve been stuck with black and grey smartphones for years now, but we’re beginning to enter the era of color and our first stop is white. Joining the iPhone 4S, HTC Amaze 4G, and HTC Radar 4G, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is now available in white.

The Skyrocket is a slightly upgraded version of the Galaxy S II for AT&T. Instead of a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 4.3-inch screen, this new version has a 4.5-inch screen and a 1.5GHz processor. The real kicker is in the connection speed. The Skyrocket has 4G LTE, meaning it connect at hyper fast speeds, comparable to many people’s home Wi-Fi. More importantly, it is one of the first devices that puts AT&T back in competition with Verizon for network speeds, though AT&T’s LTE network is in a very limited number of cities right now. It will be expanding throughout 2012.

What do you think of the new trend toward white phones?

The Samsung Galaxy S24 is a compact flagship phone that delivers the same power as its larger counterparts, thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It features a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate. Despite its small size, it can compete with bigger phones. However, accidents happen, and dropping your phone can result in serious damage. To prevent this, it’s best to invest in a good protective case that can keep your phone safe while also providing additional features. Whether you need a wallet case or a clear case to show off your phone’s design, we have rounded up the best Samsung Galaxy S24 cases available in 2024.

If you want your new Galaxy S24 to have a veritable suit of armor, the i-Blason Armorbox is your best option. Made of shock-absorbing TPU and unbending polycarbonate, this two-piece, full-body case will keep your phone cradled and secure. A zinc-alloy built-in camera cover doubles as a multi-angle kickstand, plus it’s compatible with MagSafe, features precise cutouts for port access, has raised edges to keep the screen suitably protected from damaging surfaces, and is both dirt- and moisture-resistant. Also, the built-in screen protector works with fingerprint ID.

Why I ditched my iPhone 15 Pro for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro in hand.

This is not another “lifelong iPhone user tries Android” story. I use and review all kinds of phones, and I prefer the flexibility of Android. That said, I’ve been on the iPhone 15 Pro since its launch — for two reasons. First, I had been getting the iPhone 14 Pro Max-level battery life on it. Second, I like the stability of social media apps like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). But the experience has been downgrading for a while now.

Samsung's "AI phone," the Galaxy S24 Ultra, tackles these two issues and gives me some extra features that I didn’t think would be important for me. It’s been a surprisingly fun experience. Here’s why I shifted to the Galaxy S24 Ultra from the iPhone 15 Pro and decided to stay on it. And no, it has nothing to do with AI.
Updates have ruined the iPhone 15 Pro
