Major League Gaming app arrives on Xbox One

Following its success on the Xbox 360, the Major League Gaming app is now available for your Xbox One, just in time for the MLG Championship broadcast on June 20-22. The app lets you stream all of the leading eSports league’s professionally-produced content directly to both consoles.

In addition to being able to watch the coming weekend’s MLG Championship, which includes StarCraft II, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Killer Instinct showdowns, the app also offers access to the MLG eSports Report news broadcast as well as partner streams from international leagues, like Gfinity and ACL Pro. If you’re a fan of watching people play video games at a far higher skill level than most of us can ever hope to achieve, this free-to-download app is what you’ve been looking for.

The MLG app is available now on the Xbox Marketplace.

You need to play this underrated zombie shooter before it leaves Xbox Game Pass

A massive Ridden in Back 4 Blood.

All of us have gaming opinions that go against the grain or zeitgeist around certain titles. Oftentimes, it’s because your personal opinion on a title is negative -- I was like that with Sonic Frontiers -- but it can go in a more positive direction. For me, a game I’m a very positive outlier on is Back 4 Blood, a Left 4 Dead successor developed by Turtle Rock Studios and published by WB Games.

Although Back 4 Blood got decent reviews from critics, the public's general response toward the title is more mixed on platforms like Steam. Fewer people are playing it than Left 4 Dead 2 on PC at this point. I've always loved this game, as I enjoy the variance and replay value it introduces, as also think the different playable characters and level design make this one of the most enjoyable co-op shooters of the past several years.

The latest generation of consoles has been one of the hottest yet when it comes to performance, games, price, and even looks, with some getting the side-eye when they first came out. Xbox Series S deals -- starting at $275

The Xbox Series S is the less powerful but cheaper option out of the newest generation Xbox line. When comparing the Xbox Series S versus the Xbox Series X, the Series S takes a hit in all the component categories. That means it's not quite as fast. But if you're not hung up on getting the optimal performance out of your system, you'll actually notice very few differences. The two biggest ones are the Series S's inability to play in 8K, and its lack of a disc drive. Most people don't even have 8K TVs, so that shouldn't be an issue. If you're alright with downloading all of your games straight to the console's memory (and you have a separate DVD or Blu-Ray player), the Series S will work fine. It's quite a bit smaller anyway, and easier to fit on a shelf.
