Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One makes with the funny in new Gamescom trailer

It wouldn’t be a Ratchet & Clank game without a fun story, lots of humor, and an ample supply of guns — crazy, wild, and occasionally ridiculous guns. Thankfully, that’s exactly what the new trailer for Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One provides.

Released during this weeks’ Gamescom in Germany, the teaser offers a nice look at the interaction between the quartet of characters during missions and, of course, during the cartoonish cinematics that have become a staple of the franchise. In fact, the trailer feels more like a preview for an upcoming Pixar or Dreamworks feature than a video game, which says a lot about the polish on the next installment of the series.

As we reported last month, however, All 4 One is aiming to be more than just a good-looking story, and features some interesting cooperative play elements. There’s a taste of them in the new trailer, but you can get an up-close look at some of the co-op weaponry in the videos released a few weeks ago.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One hits shelves in October, exclusively for the Playstation 3.

Back 4 Blood gets offline solo play and new cards next month
The Breaker towers over common zombies in Back 4 Blood.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment just released a Back 4 Blood road map of updates slated for later this year and into the next. The publisher tweeted out these end-of-year plans for the zombie multiplayer, with small details on soon-to-come features and content.

This month's updates mostly include quality-of-life improvements and major bug fixes. December introduces fresh features like supply lines, a Ridden Practice area, and a solo offline mode with campaign progression. This winter update also incorporates new card types and cards into the game's card system, which should mix up the meta as it is now.

Despite that, 2021 has seen a string of surprising hits, from established franchises to entirely new properties. We haven’t been buried in new releases in the past six months, but there’s been something worth checking out every few weeks. For those who are looking to play catch-up this summer before the holiday rush, here are the best games we’ve played in 2021 so far.
