We’ve known since the week of Christmas that OLED technology would be the linchpin to LG’s CES 2013 announcements, but the company saved the all-important pricing details for the opening of the show. LG announced at its Monday-morning press conference that its 55-inch OLED TVs will begin selling in the United States in March, to the tune of $12,000. Pricing for the 65-inch model hasn’t yet been announced. For the lucky few that will perk up at that news instead of flinching, LG will begin accepting preorders online immediately.
As for a the rest of us, here’s a roundup of all the other new tech LG will be showing off at CES 2013.
- We’ll see no less than 47 new HDTVs from LG this year, which are now exclusively lit by LEDs rather than CCFLs.
- Google TV fans will be able to choose from among seven new models from LG, which will run version 3 of the platform and range in size from 42 to 60 inches.
- LG’s new laser projector can throw a 100-inch screen sitting just 22 inches away from the screen.
- Home audio gurus will be able to choose from four new soundbars, two of which have Internet streaming from Pandora and Netflix built in.
- Two new Blu-ray players will work with LG’s Wii-style Magic Motion remotes.
