With all the computational gadgetry that has to be packed into a digital photo frame just to make it display pictures, you would think that with a little work it could be configured to display more than just photos of Timmy at Disney World – and you would be right. Mustek unveiled the PF-E700 on Thursday, a multitasking digital photo frame that puts its display to work for a host of other features.
Besides pictures, the PF-E700 displays the time, the indoor temperature, a calendar, and even has a built-in alarm clock. All features are controlled through seven independent buttons, and show up on the frame’s 7-inch 480 x 234 LCD display.
Of course, it also handles standard image, movie and music files in a handful of formats, and has card slots for SD, SDHC, MMC, MS Pro-Duo and CF cards, plus a USB 2.0 port. Advanced photo features include automatic slideshows with multiple transitions and a split-window slideshow.
According to Electronista, the PF-E700 will go on sale in April for $150.
