Akimbo Adds Digital Trends’s Technology Coverage to Its Internet Video-on-Demand Service

Digital Trends has partnered with Akimbo, the first and largest Internet-to-TV video-on-demand service, to provide Digital Trends’s extensive library of video product reviews, news reporting, and guides to Akimbo subscribers free of charge.

Digital Trends began producing high-definition videos in 2005 and is pleased that their content can now be accessed by Akimbo’s growing subscriber base. Recent Digital Trends video segments include features on Apple’s iPod Nano, laptops for school, flat-screen televisions, and iRiver’s Clix.  Extensive reporting on CES 2005’s cutting edge products, a review of Microsoft’s Xbox 360, and top picks for digital cameras are just some of the subjects that past broadcasts have covered.

The Akimbo Service offers more than 13,000 high-quality videos from over 200 content partners in seven languages. Akimbo’s mix of mainstream and specialty movies, TV programs and series spans approximately 100 categories and suits any interest. Subscribers browse the user-friendly, onscreen Akimbo Guide and download the videos of their choice, for viewing anytime directly on TV.

The partnership with Akimbo is the latest agreement to be signed in an effort to distribute Digital Trends’s exceptional video content to a wider audience.  In addition to being available online at http://media.digitaltrends.com/, these videos can also be seen on hundreds of news-affiliate websites around the world.
