New Legend of Tarzan trailer pits the king of the jungle against countless enemies

The jungle is getting wilder in the new trailer for the Warner Bros. film The Legend of Tarzan. Released today, the new preview paints a clearer picture of the dangerous situation the king of the jungle is drawn into years after making a life for himself in England. The threat is enough to make anyone cower, but luckily, as is pointed out, this hero is “no normal man.”

The trailer, like the first, shows the incredible strength and skill of Tarzan (played by Alexander Skarsgard), even after having become “civilized.” We see him swinging himself around the vines of the jungle like he never left. (It must be just like riding a bike — you never forget how to do it.) New footage takes the preview beyond that, though, and we see more of Tarzan’s backstory, including his parents, and the enormous danger to him now.

“Your husband’s wildness disturbs me,” says Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz) to Jane (Margot Robbie). He has her captive and is using her to try to manipulate Tarzan. Jane’s not willing to play the damsel, as we see in the preview, and she has total faith in her husband. “A normal man can do the impossible to save the woman he loves,” she says.

The impossible sounds about right. As George Washington Williams (Samuel L. Jackson) says to Tarzan about the men who want to do him harm, “There’s a thousand men down there, 20,000 more on the way. We don’t stand a chance.”

It wouldn’t be much of a movie if Tarzan didn’t actually stand a chance, of course. Based on all of the action-packed fight scenes shown in the trailer, he’ll put up a good fight. We’ll see how it turns out when The Legend of Tarzan swings into theaters on July 1.

Apex Legends season 2 two battle charge leak trailer kings canyon new character tease wattson

Season 2 of Apex Legends is nearly here and Respawn Entertainment will be introducing the new content today but a leak has sprung prior to the planned reveal. In response, Respawn released one of the two trailers which shows the new playable Legend, Wattson, in action and teases an ominous character whose actions change Kings Canyon in a significant way.

The new Apex Legends trailer introduces gamers to season 2, named Battle Charge, and gives us a look at Wattson working alongside Octane and Bangalore. The clip utilizes the same animation style seen in Apex Legends’ launch trailer and gives viewers a stylized look at how Wattson will support her teammates.

10 best action-comedies of all-time, ranked
Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon.

While straight action films like John Wick are far from extinct, it's the action comedies that tend to become the popular box office hits. Movie fans just love to laugh at the funny parts while enjoying the accompanying action. Not every action comedy is created equal, and Hollywood has admittedly gone to the well with the buddy-cop movies a little bit too often.

This weekend, The Fall Guy is the latest action comedy to attempt to give the genre some fresh blood, even though it's technically based on a TV series from the '80s that has largely been forgotten. Regardless, that's as good a reason as any to update our list of the best action comedies of all time. It would be too easy to load up this list with films from the '80s and '90s, when action comedies were at their peak. However, we've also saved some slots for more recently released action comedies that deserve some recognition as well.

If you have to watch one Hulu movie in May 2024, stream this one
Tom Hanks in Cast Away.

It's a new month, and that means new movies on Hulu. And somebody over there really loves Tom Hanks. Because in this month alone, Hulu is adding Hanks' directorial debut, That Thing You Do, one of his most iconic films, Big, and one of his most recent hits, Elvis. But if we had to choose only one Hulu movie to stream in May 2024, then our pick is another Tom Hanks movie: Cast Away.

Robert Zemeckis directed the film from a script by William Broyles Jr. It cast Hanks as Chuck Noland, a FedEx employee who survives a plane crash in the Pacific ocean, only to find himself stranded on an island in the middle of nowhere without anyone to turn to but himself. Cast Away was actually a big hit in late 2000 and during the early part of 2001, earning $429.6 million worldwide. That may not have translated into Oscar gold for two-time Best Actor winner Hanks, but Cast Away is an unforgettable film that deserves a new audience nearly 24 years after it hit theaters.
