The best Lego games for Nintendo Switch

Lego games are among the best family-friendly games on the market. Not only do they pack in dozens of hours of content, but they’re incredibly fun for the whole family — whether you’re achievement hunting on your own or playing with your five-year-old cousin, Lego titles are bound to put a smile on your face.

Nintendo Switch is already home to several games in the Lego series, but some of them are of a much higher caliber than others. From Harry Potter and Jurassic World to The Incredibles and Marvel, here are the best Lego games on Nintendo Switch.

Step into the shoes of Marvel icons such as Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain Marvel as you battle across the city of Chronopolis. Throughout your journey, you’ll unlock new lands, add new characters to your roster, and discover hundreds of well-hidden secrets.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 supports up to four players for chaotic co-op action and features a completely original story. You and your team of superheroes will go toe-to-toe with Kang the Conqueror — a time-traveling villain that wants to take control over both space and time.

Lego City Undercover

Forget about Grand Theft Auto — if you’re looking for some open-world fun, Lego City Undercover is hard to beat. While it lacks the mature story of GTA 5 — and much of the violence — this family-friendly game still manages to keep things entertaining with a sprawling open-world packed full of vehicles, collectibles, and clumsy car thieves.

Unlike most Lego games, City Undercover only allows two players to join in on the action. However, it makes up for that low player count with some of the most frantic action you’ll ever see in a Lego video game. It also comes with a healthy dose of typical Lego humor — including quirky movie references and off-the-wall character names such as Chase McCain and Rex Fury.

Lego DC Super-Villains

If you’d rather get up to some trouble in your free time, you’ll love everything offered by Lego DC Super-Villains. You’ll set out on a journey to become the world’s best super-villain — “unleashing mischievous antics and wreaking havoc” along the way.

The bizarre story follows a world in which the Justice League is absent, forcing a ragtag group of characters — called the Justice Syndicate — to keep the world safe. It’ll be up to you and a friend to figure out what this group is up to and become the greatest super-villains the Earth has ever seen.

Lego Jurassic World

Dive into the prehistoric period with Lego Jurassic World. Relive the storylines of four classic moviesJurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Jurassic Park III, and Jurassic World — or take control of a dinosaur and tear up the town. Dozens of popular species are playable, including the iconic T. Rex, loveable Triceratops, and agile Raptor.

Not content with the 20 available dinos? Lego Jurassic World lets you build your own by customizing their DNA profiles. Once you’ve put together your dream dinosaur, you can take them out to explore Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna and discover everything it has to offer.

Lego Harry Potter Collection

Follow the story of Harry Potter as he tries to stop Lord Voldemort from taking over the Wizarding World. The Lego Harry Potter Collection encompasses the entirety of Years 1-7 — all remastered to provide incredible graphics on Nintendo Switch. It might be a bit rough around the edges, but there aren’t many other games out there that give you this much Potter content in one place.

Learn new spells, craft powerful potions, and endure tedious potion classes as Harry, Ron, and Hermione work their way through Hogwarts — while also trying to stop the most powerful wizard in history. Best of all, the game lets you take a companion along for the ride with two-player co-op.

Lego The Incredibles

The incredible Parr family is back — this time in blocky Lego form. Lego The Incredibles spans both Disney-Pixar films, letting you tackle challenges as all four of The Incredibles and stop crime in its tracks. While it might lack some puzzle mechanics seen in other Lego games, there’s still a lot to love with the Switch adaptation.

The game is best played in co-op mode, where you and a friend can fight your way through the dozens of levels — discovering the usual assortment of secrets around the way. Marvel superheroes might garner most of the attention, but The Incredibles bring a lot to the table.

The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game

Released in 2017, The Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game is starting to show its age — but it’s still one of the best Ninjago games on the market. If you can look past its terribly uncreative name, there’s a lot to love about this Lego adaptation.

Up to four players can join in on co-op missions, battling against Lord Garmadon and his evil Shark Army. Wall-running and high-jumping make this one of the most fast-paced Lego games on the market and — with eight unique locations to explore — there’s more than enough content to keep you busy.

Lego Worlds

Lego Worlds might as well be called Lego Minecraft. Although it doesn’t offer as deep an experience as Minecraft, there’s still a lot of charm to the procedurally generated game. Explore a massive blocky world where the only limit is your imagination, as Lego Worlds combines vast mountain ranges and dragons with helicopters and motorcycles.

It might be a bit odd to see dragons roaming around the same world as helicopters and motorcycles, but Lego Worlds truly lets you build your world however you see fit. It’s not the best Lego game around, but it’s the one that offers you the most freedom of expression.

Anime Fighting Simulator X

There are tons and tons of anime games on Roblox, but not all of them are created equal. Anime Fighting Simulator X is kind of your catch-all for characters (called Champions) from all of your favorite anime. In exchange for some currency, you can become legally distinct characters like Goju (Gojo), Mada (Madara), and Might (All Might), as well as many others. You can level each one up and equip them with different skills and abilities by doing adventures and quests. Adventures are a passive way to earn rewards by sending your character on a mission for a duration of time, while quests let you actually fight and explore a massive world. This is one of the most well-supported games on the platform and gets constant updates, so you will always have new Champions and quests to do to get stronger.
