Amazon dials back prices on Google Nest smart thermostats for Black Friday

Smart thermostats can monitor and control the temperature in your home based on your schedule, preferences, and even your physical presence. The original Nest smart thermostat pioneered the category in 2011.  Amazon slashed the prices on the latest model Google Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E for Black Friday.

Google Nest smart thermostats can work with optional Nest Temperature Sensors to prioritize the temperature in different rooms and areas of your home. For example, you may want to switch the highest priority area between the master bedroom at night, a home office during the day, and the family room in the evening. Nest smart thermostats each can support up to six remote temperature sensors.

Smart thermostats can help you save on heating and cooling bills and stay comfortable while you are in your home. Whether you’re buying Christmas gifts or looking for greater comfort and savings in your home, these two deals can help you save up to $68.

Google Nest Learning Thermostat T3032US, Brass— $68 off

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat in this deal is the latest, third-generation model. This version has a brass case, but other colors and finishes are also available. Setting up schedules and preferences isn’t necessary with this model; that’s why it’s called a “learning” thermostat. This device tracks the changes you make automatically, and within just a few days, it establishes the best schedule to fit your practices. You can change the temperature setting via the Nest app or with Alexa commands via compatible Echo devices.

The Learning Thermostat prioritizes energy savings and displays a green leaf icon when the current setting is the most economical. You can also configure this model to anticipate weather changes to keep your home at your preferred temperature levels and to adjust the temperature automatically, balancing economy and comfort, depending on whether you are home or away.

Normally priced at $247, the Google Nest Learning Thermostat is just $179 during the Black Friday sale. If you want a smart thermostat that requires the least human intervention, take advantage of this awesome price.

Black Friday is a ways off, but that doesn't mean it's too early to think about deal-shopping later this year.

Google Nest Thermostat E ET4000ES, White — $30 off

The “E” in the Google Nest Thermostat E’s product name stands for “economy.” The Thermostat E has many of the same features as the more expensive Nest Learning Thermostat, including automatically adjusting the temperature when people leave or return. You’ll have to set up the schedule yourself with the Nest Thermostat E, but the Nest app helps by showing your energy consumption history. Once you create a schedule, it’s easy to change from anywhere with the remote app.

Usually $169, the Google Nest Thermostat E is just $139 for Black Friday. If you’re looking for a smart thermostat for comfort and economy but don’t mind setting up the schedule yourself, this is a great bargain.
