Watch every Watchmen episode for free this weekend

Watchmen, HBO’s popular limited series, will be available to watch for free this weekend.

From June 19 to 21 — the weekend of Juneteenth — all nine episodes of Watchmen are free to watch on HBO.com and on On Demand. There will also be a Watchmen marathon on HBO and HBO Latino on Friday.

HBO’s Watchmen is a full-fledged sequel to Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ influential 1986 graphic novel. HBO’s series is set about 30 years after the original comic series and directly builds off of the events of that story.

The show is set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, and these superheroes rely on technology, weapons, and their own skills to get the job done. The drama series is more relevant than ever today due to its examination of race and the criminal justice system.

The show debuted last fall, and while it became extremely popular with fans, creator Damon Lindelof recently told USA Today that there won’t be a second season.

Forget Netflix and chill: This is the best streaming service for binge watching on weekends

Netflix was at the forefront of the streaming boom, so it's only natural that it has become most consumers' go-to streaming service. While Netflix has built a film and TV pipeline over the years that has resulted in a near-constant stream of new originals, its brand identity has only grown increasingly diluted. Its output has become so wide-ranging and uneven that, although it may still be the most popular streaming service, whether or not it holds the title of the best is less clear. The non-curated nature of its new releases and its loss of most of the legacy titles that brought so many subscribers to its platform in the first place have made Netflix a less dependable source for your weekend entertainment than it once was.

So where should you go when you want something new to watch from the comfort of your own home on a quiet Friday or Saturday night — or even a lazy Sunday afternoon? Max, Peacock, Paramount+, and Hulu all have better libraries of classic movies and TV shows than Netflix. However, if you're looking for something new, this writer would argue that the best streaming platform for fresh and reliable weekend entertainment is none other than Shudder.

There are few streaming services with a deeper lineup of great movies to watch than Max. As Sex and the City made its way to Netflix's impressive library of shows, I couldn't help but wonder: Just how many times can one watch this show? To quote Cady Heron, the limit truly doesn't exist. The beloved and groundbreaking HBO hit starring Sarah Jessica Parker as dysfunctional yet relatable columnist Carrie Bradshaw has been enchanting audiences since its premiere in 1998, and now, it's available on Netflix for the world to see.

Throughout 94 episodes, fans see the romantic and professional lives of Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte, celebrating or crying with them, depending on the season. Each is great in its own way; some have great laughs, others have great drama, and they all usually have great sex. However, these five episodes are the absolute best for everyone to watch, whether they're loyal fans or casual viewers.
