Nobody has just one best friend. If you’re lucky, you’ve got a whole army of people who know you well enough to write your biography for you. A lot of the most popular social networks have a function in place that will make it easier for you to communicate with your closest buddies – Facebook has Close Friends that’ll group together all the profiles you actually care about in one feed, while Twitter has an effective list function that allows you isolate handles that don’t bug the bejesus out of you. Well, in the case of Snapchat aficionados, have we got great news for you: If you’ve ever felt like Snapchat was limiting your expansive network of BFFs to a mere three, today’s your lucky day!

With the new secret code, your public Snapchat Web profile and your Snapchat address book will feature an additional two friends that you frequently exchange snaps with. Your time scrolling through a long list of contacts may be substantially lessened…which is perfect for those moments you absolutely need to group-send a candid snap of your crush looking uber-cute reading a book in a coffee shop to your gang of gals.

To use the secret code, take a photo and type the following in the text field:

sopopular…

Take note of all the lower case letters, with an ellipsis (that’s what the three dots are called) at the end. Afterwards, proceed to your friends list like you would if you were actually going to send your snap and hit refresh. It may not work the first time, but in time, you’ll find that instead of top three snapped pals, you’ve got five. Yay!

Ever wanted to take a Snap using both of your phone's cameras simultaneously? You can do it now with Snapchat's latest feature.

On Monday, Snapchat announced the rollout of Dual Camera, a feature that allows Snapchatters to record content using their devices' front and rear cameras at the same time. And judging by the images Snapchat provided in their announcement, using Dual Camera results in capturing two perspectives of the same moment, often letting the person taking the Snap have more of a starring role in the moment that they're recording.

Snapchat may owe you money just for using filters — here’s how to get paid

Snapchat is currently in a bit of hot water with the state of Illinois following a class-action lawsuit that alleges that the company violated the privacy rights of Illinois app users. While the suit is still ongoing, parent company Snap Inc. could owe residents up to $35 million. That number is subject to change as the lawsuit continues toward its final approval, which is scheduled for November, according to NBC Chicago.

Although it's never a good thing when a tech company violates the rights of its userbase, the silver lining here is that Snapchat users could be getting a check in the mail as long as they fill out the required forms.
What rights did Snapchat violate?

How to half swipe on Snapchat
A hand holding a phone that shows app store listing for Snapchat app on its screen.

On Snapchat, there may be times when you want to peek at a chat message rather than fully open it. You may not want to fully open a message because, for whatever reason, you don't want the app to let the person who sent it know that you read it. If that's the case for you, you should know that there is a way to view your messages in Snapchat without alerting the sender that you viewed their message. It's called "half swiping."

While the half-swiping process itself is simple, it can take a few tries to get the hang of doing it. Follow our steps below ... and be patient.
