Are you sharing a Netflix account with friends or family and don’t want them to know you watched The Do Over? Tired of Netflix recommendations that don’t hit the mark? There are plenty of reasons you might want to clear your viewing history on Netflix, and thankfully, the process for doing so is incredibly simple even if it’s not the most obvious. Everybody has skeletons in their Netflix closet, so go ahead and clear yours out. Here’s how to delete any unwanted titles from your viewing history.
The first step, naturally, is to log in to your Netflix account. Also, because viewing histories are specific to individual profiles, make sure you choose the right profile if there are multiple on the account.
Once you have done this, find the drop-down menu in the upper right of the Netflix page. Select the button labeled Your account.
Scroll down to the My profile section, and click the blue link labeled Viewing activity.
This will take you to a page showing all your viewing activity. Here, you will see all of the titles — from films to individual episodes — that you have watched. To the far right of each entry will be an “X.”
Clicking this “X” will remove the entry from your history, though it may take up to 24 hours for the change to go into effect.
Note that if you do this with an episode of a show, it will only remove that specific episode.
Afterward, you will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the entire series. If so, click the provided link.
And that’s all there is to it! The titles will be removed from your history and nobody will know of your secret love for Criminal Minds.
