Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat code list and how to activate them

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a highly detailed open-world game that really leans into the idea of realism. From lifelike character animations to weather, and certain horse “parts,” RDR2 wants you to feel like you’re in America’s heartland circa 1899. The realism extends to the story’s methodical pacing and belief that you should spend a ton of time working your way through the world.

Still, RDR2 is a video game, and it’s a virtual playground filled with fun and hilarious possibilities. That’s where cheat codes come in to spice things up. Like the original RDR, there are a variety of cheat codes you can enter in to turn the realism notch down a tad and see what kind of trouble you can get into. From infinite ammo to unlimited drunkenness and virtual invulnerability, cheat codes can be fun to mess around with in RDR2.

Entering cheats works differently than you might expect. First, go into the pause menu, and then go down to Settings. From there, press Triangle on PS4, or Y on Xbox One, to open the Cheats menu. Then press Triangle/Y again to type in a cheat. All of the codes are phrases, some of which require you to have specific newspapers in your inventory in order to activate them. Newspapers can sometimes be purchased after missions in certain towns, so keep an eye out for opportunities. The cheat codes are often hidden as headlines in the newspapers.

We’ve compiled a list of all 37 RDR2 cheat codes. Before you start typing in these codes, you should first create a manual save. After activating a cheat code, you cannot save your game, nor can you unlock Trophies or Achievements. So if you were planning on running through the story with unlimited ammo, you won’t be able to, unfortunately. Here is the complete list of Red Dead Redemption 2 cheat codes.

How to pre-order Dead Island 2: retailers, editions, and bonuses
Dead Island 2.

Some of us out there have been waiting on Dead Island 2 since 2014, when it was first revealed with a cinematic trailer. Little did we know at the time that the game would not only be delayed but that the original developers would leave the project. And then, the second team picking up where they left off would also be removed, and the game would finally land with its final team at Dambuster Studios. There are few games that can survive this long of a development cycle, and even fewer that can somehow still make it to market after passing hands so many times, and yet Dead Island 2 refuses to die.

With its re-reveal at Gamescom 2022, Dead Island 2 was quick to slap a solid release date of February 3, 2023, on the game to build some goodwill and trust among fans who have been waiting for close to a decade already. Not long after, pre-orders were launched, further cementing the fact that, yes, this game is actually coming out. Whether you've been waiting since 2014 or are just hearing about the franchise now, here are all the details on how to pre-order Dead Island 2 and what each edition comes with.

#RedDeadFuneral is trending on Twitter as fans memorialize Red Dead Online, the multiplayer online expansion of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Since then, the community has waited patiently for more substantial updates, but received next to nothing. On Wednesday, fans declared the game deceased, inviting each other to log into the game to drink at Valentine and Blackwater Graveyard and post screenshots of their characters dressed in black and paying their respects to the game on social media.

GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption remasters reportedly shelved to focus on GTA 6
Niko Bellic with arms outstretched in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Rockstar Games has reportedly halted plans to remaster Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption, following the lukewarm reception to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, which launched in 2021. Instead, Rockstar will shift its focus to the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI -- a game that has been in the works for a while now.

This news first came from reputable GTA insider Tez, who said Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption remasters had been "on the table a few years ago," before Rockstar shelved plans to move forward. This was then independently corroborated by Kotaku, citing sources with knowledge of Rockstar’s plans. According to Kotaku, these two remasters aren't necessarily canceled for good, but Rockstar seems to have shifted most of its focus toward Grand Theft Auto VI for now since the demand for it is so high.
