AT&T plans a hero’s welcome for Nokia Ace/Lumia 900, as more specs leak ahead of CES

Nokia Lumia 900 Ace Mock UpNokia will be using CES 2012 to kickstart their US sales efforts, and it’s becoming more likely they’ll start with the launch of the Lumia 900. This is the long-rumored, range-topping Windows Phone from the Finnish company, also known as the Nokia Ace.

Today, new information regarding the 900 has been given to PocketNow.com, which along with previous spec details from BGR.com, gives us an almost complete picture of the device.

They’re confirming the phone will have a 4.3-inch, 480 x 800 pixel AMOLED touchscreen, making it considerably larger than the Lumia 800’s 3.7-inch screen; but crucially, the same resolution.

It’ll be the same 1.4Ghz processor inside, and the latest information says the same amount of RAM — 512MB — too. The camera will remain at 8-megapixels, while the battery will get a boost to 1830mAh. Anyone expecting the 900 to use Windows Phone Tango is going to be disappointed, as it’s expected to launch using the current version of Windows Phone 7 known as Mango.

Additionally, there’s another name to add to the list, as internally it’s said to be known by the codename Eloko.

Nokia will be launching the phone alongside AT&T in the USA, where it’ll probably be known as the Nokia Ace, while internationally it’ll take the Lumia 900 name. Whether it’ll support the carrier’s 4G network remains to be seen.

Microsoft has reportedly struck a deal with AT&T to give the Ace “hero” status on their network, meaning it’ll feature heavily in their advertising and sales people will push the device in-store. Betanews.com adds that their sources say the phone is on target for a March release.
