Where to watch Love Actually

Most romantic comedies tend to focus on one or two couples. However, Love Actually ups the ante with eight different couples throughout the film, and you might need a scorecard to keep up with them all. Director Richard Curtis assembled an all-star cast for his ultimate rom-com. And it’s also a Christmas movie!

Love Actually plays well year-round, but it’s become a holiday favorite over the last two decades. This year also marks the 20th anniversary for Love Actually, which makes it the perfect time to revisit this classic flick — preferably with someone you love. But for the single folks, there’s a lot to like here as well.

Watch Love Actually on Netflix

How much does it cost?

There are currently three options for Netflix subscribers. Standard with ads runs $7 a month, while the traditional no-ads Netflix goes for $15.50 a month. Netflix’s premium tier is $23 a month, but that’s for users who need the option to watch programs in Ultra HD and lend out access for up to two people who don’t live with them. The first two tiers are more suitable for the vast majority of Netflix subscribers.

Despite its flaws, Love Actually has enough entertaining storylines to merit a watch during the holiday season. The official synopsis reads: “Londoners navigate the complexity of relationships across nine intertwined stories, with one emotion connecting them all: love.”

One of the strengths of Love Actually is its ensemble cast, which includes Academy Award winners and many well-known actors. The ensemble features Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Bill Nighy, Martine McCutcheon, and Rowan Atkinson. Also popping up are Shannon Elizabeth, Claudia Schiffer, Denise Richards, and a pre-Mad Men January Jones.

On Rotten Tomatoes, Love Actually registers a 64% on the Tomatometer and a 72% audience score. On Metacritic, the film holds a Metascore of 55 and a user score of 8.4

One of Netflix's other notable arrivals, the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One, definitely has that summer movie swagger we've been looking for. The same is true for Netflix's original film Hit Man, which is still one of the most popular movies on Netflix. These are just a few of the options on the best movies on Netflix right now. And in just two weeks, they're going to be joined by Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the sequel to one of the greatest action comedies ever made.
