While the BlackBerry PlayBook didn't sell gangbusters, BlackBerry VP Francois Mahieu admitted that the company would consider making a successor. However, it is not something that will happen anytime soon.
RIM has announced the new version of the BlackBerry PlayBook and it features 4G LTE connectivity. It will be released in Canada first on August 9. RIM CEO Thorsten Heins also floated the idea of licensing BB10 to manufacturers.
While it may be a little too early to crack open the bubbly, Research In Motion executives will be pleased to hear that sales of its PlayBook tablet in Canada have actually been doing pretty well recently.
Research In Motion has managed to shift 5,200 of its PlayBook tablets in one go, but not in the way it would’ve liked. The tablets were inside a vehicle that was stolen from a truck stop near Indianapolis.
