Fortnite adds LeBron James and his signature shoes

Just when you thought Fortnite couldn’t add any more superstars, Epic Games decides to add one of basketball’s largest icons, LeBron “The King” James.  LeBron is joining the item shop for the newest season of the hit battle royale in two days on July 14, along with his upcoming shoe: the Nike LeBron 19.

The King Has Arrived: LeBron James Joins Fortnite’s Icon Series

Fortnite has recently become more well-known for its character inclusions than its actual battle royale gameplay. Through its icon series of skins, the battle royale juggernaut has added real-life gaming, music, movie, and sports stars. These skins include Ninja, Travis Scott, Major Lazer, and now LeBron.

James will come with three variations of his new shoes, as well as many different outfits and bling that show off his title of King. Players can also grab new costumes that coincide with his upcoming film, Space Jam: A New Legacy.

One outfit included in LeBron’s icon pack is focused on his pre-game persona, placing him in a collared shirt with a hoodie and blazer on as outerwear. The other pulls him right out of Space Jam featuring his new Tune Squad jersey. There’s also a Taco Tuesday variant pack, complete with a taco shirt and matching backpack. Each costume features optional sunglasses.

His kingly equipment includes a lion pickaxe, wingspan glider, his dance “The Silencer,” and a floating crown. Each of these outfits comes included with the new loading screen featuring the King himself.

LeBron James will be making his way from the court to your copy of Fortnite in two days on July 14.

All three will be getting upgrades, with better graphics, the ability to switch between classic and modern control schemes, and more than 150 new trophies for achievement hunters. 3 Disco Elysium spiritual successors announced on the same day

You'd be forgiven for thinking only one Disco Elysium spiritual successor made partially by people on the original team was announced on Friday. Turns out, there were three revealed, all with the hope of following up on one of the best games of all time.

First up is Dark Math Games, which announced its game XXX Nightshift on Friday. The studio is described as a "breakaway group" from the original team in a press release. While XXX Nightshift looks very much like Disco Elysium in early footage (which you can watch below), the studio says it will include a "unique companion dynamic," a deep RPG system, and multiple ways to solve a mystery at a ski resort in Antarctica set in the year 2086.

The Sims 5: everything we know so far

After over a decade of support and expansions with The Sims 4, we were all ready for the next entry in this hit life-simulator series. Rumors of a Project Rene were our first signs that EA was working on some sort of follow-up, which many assumed was The Sims 5. There was even a preview video detailing a few of the new features this next step in the Sims franchise would take. However, late in 2024 EA detailed the future plans for the series and, sadly, The Sims 5 is not a part of it. If you're a bit lost on whether The Sims 5 is canceled, what's going on with Project Rene, and what will happen with The Sims 4, we'll explain the entire story.
Is The Sims 5 canceled?

Technically The Sims 5 was never officially confirmed to be in development so it isn't clear whether it was canceled, but we do know that EA and Maxis are not currently working on a new installment in the franchise. EA's statement on the matter reads: "We’re focused on creating a variety of games and experiences that will touch different categories across the simulated life genre including cozy games, social and collaborative based gameplay, mobile narrative games and continued depth, improvements and modernization of The Sims 4, which will continue to be a foundational Sims experience."
