How to get the final badge in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is overflowing with things to collect, secrets to uncover, and plenty of new mechanics to discover and use. Among the fresh additions to the franchise in this outing is its badge system, which allows you to select a perk of sorts at the beginning of a match. However, to use the badges, you’ll first need to find them throughout Super Mario Bros. Wonder‘s various challenges and Poplin Shops. When it comes to unlocking the final badge, though, you’ll have to put in quite a bit of extra work. Here’s what you’ll need to do to score the quirky “Sound Off?” badge, which has a pretty funny and unique action attached to it.

How to get the final badge

To get the final badge in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, you’ll need to unlock a very well-hidden secret final level called The Final-Final Test Badge Marathon. Based on our testing, unlocking this ultra-challenging stage requires you to meet the following criteria:

Collect every Wonder Seed
Collect every 10-flower coin
Grab the top of every flagpole
Complete all other Special World stages

This secret final level will test the mettle of even platformer veterans, so be prepared for quite a challenge on your quest to score the final badge. You’ll have to make use of everything you’ve learned throughout all of Super Mario Bros. Wonder‘s previous levels and pull it all off with extreme precision. As a reward, though, the “Sound Off?” badge will be yours.

So what exactly does the “Sound Off?” badge do? Well, it’s not going to provide you with any useful abilities that help you complete a level. Instead, it makes all the sound effects in the game even wackier than before by changing them entirely to a cappella versions. In other words, if funny mouth noises get you laughing, you’ll love this one. Otherwise, you’re probably better off sticking with badges that can actually help you.

Where to get Wings of Icarus and how they work
The Wings of Icarus can be found in Olympus Chests or Underworld Chests. They can also rarely be found on the ground and in standard or rare chests.

This incredibly fun mobility item lets you press the fire button to begin flying through the air. You'll start with 300 charges that will count down rapidly as you're soaring around, but it's usually enough to take you pretty far across the map when you need to reposition or escape the incoming storm. However, it's worth noting that the relatively slow speed of taking off and flying doesn't make the Wings of Icarus the best mid-battle escape tool, so it's not usually wise to use it while you're being shot at.

When it comes to Mario, Nintendo has remake fever. The publisher is currently on a hot streak as it revisits some of the series' cult classics. We got a strong remake of Super Mario RPG last November and a new version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is on the way this year. In-between those beloved titles, we're getting a full remake of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, a unique Game Boy Advance puzzle-platformer. It's something of a 20th-anniversary edition considering the original launched in 2004.

Ahead of its launch, I played through the remake's first four worlds. For the most part, they're 1:1 recreations of the original's levels, with a charming visual boost that's not far off from what we saw in Super Mario RPG. What I wouldn't realize at first, though, is that one of those worlds was an entirely new addition made for the remake. That's how naturally its new content slots in to a very faithful recreation.
Tiny changes
Like Super Mario RPG, Mario vs. Donkey Kong's Switch remake isn't trying to mess with fans' nostalgia. The core gameplay loop is entirely unchanged here: Mario moves through bite-sized 2D platforming levels turned into small puzzles. Each level has me finding a key and bringing it to a door, before sending me to a second screen where I need to rescue a mini Mario toy. I watched a YouTube video of the original game's World 1 after beating the remake's and it was almost identical.

In addition to all of the cosmetics you can buy is the addition of the iconic Buster Sword that can be found and wielded against your opponents during matches. Below, we'll tell you where to find Cloud Strife's weapon of choice and how it works.
How to get the Buster Sword
You can find the Buster Sword in multiple locationsduring each match by looking for bright red beams coming off the ground. When coming upon one of these red beams, you'll see the Buster Sword stuck in the ground, so just walk over and pick it up to add it to one of your weapon slots. Bear in mind that the Buster Sword can also be found in Neutral Care Packages or on the ground next to fallen players who had one, so the chances of you finding one in each match are relatively high.

Once you've equipped a Buster Sword, you'll be able to dish out some pretty impressive damage to foes if you can close the gap on them. The weapon's light attacks will deal 25 damage per hit, while heavy attacks output a whopping 60 damage, meaning just a few good swings from this bad boy can put someone down. You can also launch into the air and slam down on unsuspecting players below, or even use the sword to block incoming attacks by holding down the same button you use for aiming.
