Fans of Fox’s new ratings hit Empire will be delighted to know that a release date for the hotly-anticipated second season has been confirmed: we’ll see the show’s return on September 23, 2015.

The official date was confirmed in a Tweet posted today, asking fans to mark their calendars, with the witty hashtag #gametimebitches.

Empire stats Terrance Howard (Crash) and Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as divorced former drug dealers. Henson, who stars as the loud-mouthed Cookie, is just newly-released from a 17-year prison sentence, and wants a piece of her ex-husband Lucious Lyon’s (Howard’s) massive music mogul pie, which he built during her time behind bars. But the story sees more major twists and turns beyond that: not only are now-grown kids involved, but Lyon is also engaged to be re-married. And, most troublesome of all, he has been diagnosed with ALS.

In March, Hulu picked up exclusive rights to stream the show, including the entire previous season on-demand, as well as every new episode of this and future seasons the day after it broadcasts of Fox.

The first season finale of Empire was a record-breaker, becoming the highest-rated first-year season finale since McDreamy and McSteamy graced the screens on Grey’s Anatomy. And viewership seemed to continue to pick up following the season one finale – Hulu had already been offering the full first season under its Hulu Plus subscription, which costs $8 per month.

Several guest stars have been confirmed for Season 2, including Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys. The first season’s final two-hour episode welcomed a steady stream of guest stars, including Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora, Juicy J, and Patti Labelle.

Stephen Amell and Heels cast on season 2, pro wrestling, and good storytelling
Alexander Ludwig stands and faces Stephen Amell in Heels.

Professional wrestling exhibits some of the most sophisticated storytelling in all of television. As a fan, it's insulting to use the words "fake" when cynics describe pro wrestling. It's the furthest thing from fake. Pro wrestling is scripted, just like any movie or television show. Pro wrestlers create characters to present to a live audience inside the ring. They work with writers to script promos to read in front of a crowd. Unlike most actors, pro wrestlers are exceptional athletes who do their own stunts inside the ring, implementing fight choreography to mimic a real brawl. It's an art form that should be treated with respect and great care.

Heels, a drama television series about professional wrestling, is a love letter to pro wrestling that shines a light on the intricacies inside and outside the ring. Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig star as Jack Spade and Ace Spade, rspectively, two wrestlers vying for glory and attention via their late father's Georgia wrestling promotion, Duffy Wrestling League (DWL). It's been two years since the season 1 finale, but the critically acclaimed drama is returning for an eight-episode second season on STARZ.

David S. Goyer and the Foundation cast on season 2 of the Apple TV+ sci-fi show
Lee Pace stares into the distance while another man looks at him in Foundation.

David S. Goyer told his writers before starting work on season 2 of Foundation that "the training wheels are off." Foundation, the sci-fi drama co-created by Goyer and Josh Friedman that's based on Isaac Asimov's book series, returns to Apple TV+ for its second season on July 14. With so much exposition and worldbuilding in season 1, Goyer, the showrunner on Foundation, and his team were happy to "dive right in and start the story" to begin season 2.

It has been two years since the season 1 finale, but more than a century has passed in the series' timeline. The impending Second Crisis is on the horizon, with the galaxy's fate in the hands of "crucial individuals" that transcend time and space. Foundation stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Demerzel, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk, and Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn.

How I Met Your Father season 2’s ending, explained
Valentina and Sophie looking at the phone, screaming in a scene from How I Met Your Father.

When How I Met Your Father season 2, part 1 ended, Sophie (Hilary Duff) met Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), who reprised his role from How I Met Your Mother. Their candid conversation led her to come to a huge decision: she wanted to find her biological father. This was resolved quickly in the first episode of the second half of season 2 when she tracked him down as a man named Nick (Clark Gregg).

The story continued to divert from there because, like the adult Ted (Josh Radnor) in How I Met Your Mother, the adult Sophie (Kim Cattrall) continuously went off topic through her story. But the wild ride is all part of the show’s charm.
