Walmart knocks $280 off this incredible 55-inch Vizio 4K TV

Image used with permission by copyright holder

Walmart has discounted the 55-inch Vizio M-Series by $280, dropping the price of the must-have 4K TV down from $830 to only $550 — a fantastic deal on what’s regarded by many as the next best thing to a Samsung QLED or Sony OLED. Plus, take advantage of the retailer’s 12-month financing plan, and it can be watered down to just $54 per month, including local sales tax.

What’s so fantastic about the Vizio M-Series on offer is that it takes advantage of a little-adopted screen technology called Quantum Dots — similar to that of Samsung’s flagship Q90 QLED 4K TV — to deliver cinema-like visuals. However, in this case, Vizio is using a standard LED screen, rather than a QLED or OLED, to keep the cost down for you.

Working in tandem with the television’s 4K Upscale Engine, which transforms HD and Full HD content into a higher 4K Ultra HD resolution, and multi-format HDR — headlined by both Dolby Vision and HDR10 — for drawing additional detail from supported material, Quantum Dots deliver better contrast (and thus more detail) and more accurate color reproduction.

The result? An incredible 4K TV that’s affordable for most viewers, at least when compared to the $2,000 rival Samsung charges for a comparable QLED model also infused with Quantum Dots. This makes the M-Series perfect for watching the latest must-see Netflix show, tuning into Thursday Night Football, or watching a movie.

You don’t need to hook up a set-top box or streaming stick to immerse yourself in the action, either. The Vizio M-Series is equipped with all the same tools you’d expect to find on a 4K TV worthy of the name, such as smart software. In this case, it’s driven by an integrated Chromecast, which is home to just about every major and minor streaming service out there.

Here’s a quick look at some of the streaming services the M-Series can access right out of the box:

All in all, an awful lot of bang for a 55-inch 4K TV that costs less than $1,000 when it’s not on sale, and a fraction more than half now it is. Seriously — you really can’t go wrong with the oft-raved-about Vizio M-Series. It’s considered second to the likes of ultra-high-end televisions that retail for north of $1,500, with a commendable model sitting on the shelf for around $2,000.

Don’t just take our word for it, though. Here’s what one customer had to say about their M-Series:

We’ve had the TV for about three weeks. The picture is phenomenal! So clear. Take the time to adjust the settings to fine-tune the color. Love that there are buttons for Netflix & Amazon Prime right on the remote control. Great value! Great picture! Can’t go wrong.

If you’re looking to breathe fresh life into your home entertainment setup on a budget, it really doesn’t get better than this. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your credit card, head over to Walmart’s website, and start punching in the long number. And don’t forget: If the reduced $550 is still a little too heavy for your wallet, you always have the option to split the cost over 12 months.

Searching for a television with a bit more presence than the 55-inch Vizio M-Series on sale? There are several other great savings on 4K TVs out there. Fortunately, we’ve rounded up the best offers for you, so you don’t have to traipse all over the internet to track them down. The highlights include a 70-inch Vizio D-Series for $700 and a 65-inch Samsung  Q60R QLED for $1,100.

The latest Apple TV 4K (2022) is potentially overpowered for what it is. Most people will simply want an easy way to stream content but this system also has a reasonable processor that means you can play games on it too. It won’t be an essential feature for everyone but being able to add on a controller and enjoy some gaming without the need for a dedicated console is a neat touch. For AV enthusiasts, there’s HDR10+ support which is useful for Samsung TV owners. The older Apple TV from 2021 lacks HDR10+ support but is still pretty speedy for everything else you might wish to do. If that all sounds good to you, take a look at the best Apple TV deals below.
