Prime Day may be over, but Amazon’s holiday deals have only just begun

Prime Day was a 48-hour event chock-full of sales. But, just because Prime Day is over it doesn’t mean all the best sales are gone. Holiday sales have just begun and the rest of the year is going to be jam-packed with Back Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas sales. Amazon has already started listing tons of great holiday deals on tech, home goods, and more. We’ll be rounding up the best offers you should know about below, so keep reading!

There are going to be a lot of new offers daily, the closer we get to Black Friday. Keep your eyes peeled for any must-have offers that go live in the run-up to the event. If you see a gadget you really want at a really low price, buy it. You can always return it later if you see a better deal pop up during Black Friday or even Cyber Monday. Amazon also extended its return policy this year to 2021, so anything you shop now can be returned by the end of January. This is particularly great if you’re in charge of buying all the gifts. If your loved one doesn’t like what you bought them, you have extended time to return those goods and buy them something new.

There are also going to be tons of holiday lightning deals, so make sure to watch out for those. Lightning deals are usually daily deals that have a limited amount of stock assigned to them. If you see something you like don’t hesitate to click “buy.” Chances are, that product won’t see another discount anytime soon. One important buying tip to keep in mind: Always check reviews and do a little bit of research before you purchase any product. Though Amazon is a pretty trustworthy site, there are always a few rotten deals floating around. A simple check of the ratings and reviews on the product’s page should usually do the trick. If you’re looking to buy a bigger tech gadget, check out our product reviews before so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Finally, make sure to get most of your holiday shopping done in advance. Amazon might see extended shipping delays the closer we get to Christmas.

HBO Max is back on Amazon Prime Video Channels
HBO Max on Amazon Prime Video Channels.

After more than a year since disappearing from Amazon Prime Video Channels, HBO Max once again is available for subscription through your Amazon account. The price remains $15 a month, and you'll still have access to all the things you'll find on HBO Max if you subscribe to it directly. And you'll again be able to watch it through the Amazon Prime Video app on whatever device you want.

New this time, however, is that the full HBO Max library is on board, not just the linear (or "live") shows from the various HBO channels. Anything and everything on demand is here, all inside the Amazon Prime Video app.

Amazon Prime members now have access to 100 million songs
Amazon Music on a smartphone screen.

Amazon has expanded the number of songs that its Prime members can access inside Amazon Music from 2 million to 100 million -- which represents the entire catalog of songs that Amazon streams through its paid Amazon Music Unlimited streaming service. The expansion will also include access to "the most top podcasts, which will be available ad-free and at no additional cost to a Prime membership," according to the company.

There are still limitations on how Prime members can access the expanded catalog: you can only shuffle play artists, albums, or playlists. There is also on-demand access to a selection of All-Access playlists. For greater control over music playback and to access songs in spatial audio and in two varieties of lossless audio (HD and Ultra HD), you will still need to subscribe to the Amazon Music Unlimited tier. Both tiers support music downloads and are available within the Amazon Music app.

Amazon Prime Video is failing with its Thursday Night Football stream
Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video.

October 6 marked the fourth installment of Thursday Night Football this season, and several things are now clear. First, the Colts-Broncos matchup wasn't worth scheduling in the first place, let alone staying up for overtime in a game that didn't see a single touchdown. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

Second — and this is the part that's actually important — Amazon Prime Video still has some serious work to do if it doesn't want to continue to be dog-cussed by a number of customers each week.
