Watch these Apple TV+ originals for free while you’re staying at home

Apple TV+, Apple’s streaming service, is making a selection of its original programs available for anyone to watch for free, to keep people entertained while they are stuck inside due to the global outbreak of coronavirus, officially called COVID-19.

As reported by Variety, the full list of programs available to watch for free is as follows:

The Elephant Queen, a wildlife documentary by Victoria Stone and Mark Deeble about the matriarch of an elephant herd, set in Kenya and narrated by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Little America, an anthology series created by Lee Eisenberg about the lives of immigrants in America, with each episode focusing on a different character or family in a new location.
Servant, the creepy M. Night Shyamalan show starring Lauren Ambrose and Toby Kebbell as a young couple who suffer a terrible tragedy and go to extreme lengths to cope with it.
For All Mankind, an alternative history sci-fi show which explores what might have happened if the space race had never ended and the Soviet Union had succeeded in being the first to land on the moon, from Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek writer Ronald D. Moore.
Dickinson, a comedic take on the life of American poet Emily Dickinson, set in the 1800s and starring Hailee Steinfeld.
Helpsters, a live-action monster puppet show for kids.
Ghostwriter, a children’s mystery show.
Snoopy in Space, an animated series based on the Peanuts comic strips.

Viewers in the U.S. should already be able to watch these programs by heading to the Apple Free For Everyone website. The free streaming program will be expanding to also make the content available in more than 100 countries and regions from today, April 10, via the Apple TV app.

This follows similar moves by other streaming services, such as HBO which is offering free streaming of some of its most popular shows including Veep, The Sopranos, and The Wire, plus popular movies like Pokémon Detective Pikachu to encourage people to stay at home and keep everyone safe. Another streaming service, is offering brand new movie releases for rental or viewing on its platform via its “in-theater rentals” service.

Oscars live stream: Watch the 96th Academy Awards for free

The best films of 2023 will be honored at the 2024 Oscars. Also known as the 96th Academy Awards, the 2024 Oscars will feature some of the biggest and brightest stars Hollywood has to offer, including Margot Robbie, Robert Downey Jr., Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Lily Gladstone, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and more. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will award Oscars in 23 categories, with the top prize being Best Picture. Jimmy Kimmel returns to host for the fourth time.

Oppenheimer leads the field with 13 nominations, followed by Poor Things with 11, Killers of the Flower Moon with 10, and Barbie with eight. Can Oppenheimer complete its dominant awards season run with a Best Picture prize, or can The Zone of Interest or Poor Things pull off the improbable upset?
What channel is the Oscars on?
The 2024 Oscars will air on ABC starting at a new time of 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Sunday, March 10. This is a significant change from the regular 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT start time. However, ABC has decided to start the Oscars at 7 p.m. ET so it can air a new episode of Abbott Elementary upon the ceremony's completion at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT. This strategy is similar to how the network airing the Super Bowl airs an episode of television following the Big Game.

Some of the best TV comedies hail from the 1990s. We're talking classics that you can watch and rewatch and yet they never get old. Among the three TV comedies on Prime Video you need to watch in March are two from that decade that you might have already seen, but probably not since they originally aired. If you haven’t seen them yet, they’re worth checking out, as they feature fabulous casts and unique storylines.

The third entry on the list this month is a long-running comedy from the 2010s that might have fallen under the radar. The series didn’t get much attention when it quietly aired on USA Network for eight seasons, all of which are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. If you have run out of new comedies to watch and want a solid throwback option, these three TV comedies are all delights.
