Samsung Galaxy Buds Live get a $30 price cut for Black Friday

Jaron Schneider / Digital Trends

True wireless earbuds typically come in one of two designs: Silicone-tipped in-ear models like the Jabra Elite 75t and those that simply hover just outside the ear canal like the AirPods. That’s what makes the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live so intriguing — they use a hybrid shape that fills the outer ear but doesn’t close off the ear canal itself. And during Black Friday deals, they’re even more affordable, at just $140.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are the answer to the question: Can I get active noise cancellation (ANC) in a set of true wireless earbuds without needing a silicone ear tip wedged firmly inside my ear canal? The answer is yes. Thanks to the Buds Live’s bean shape, they block outside sound much more effectively than Apple’s AirPods, while their active noise-canceling circuitry deals with most of the sound that still manages to get through.

If you don’t mind the in-ear-canal design of most true wireless earbuds, you may not be inspired by the Galaxy Buds Live. But for those who find any object in their ears unpleasant, the smoothly curved shape of the Buds Live off a much more comfortable solution.

Given that they don’t seal the ear canal, sound quality is surprisingly good — especially in the bass department. The available app for Android and iOS lets you tweak the sound profile with six equalizer options: Normal, Bass Boost, Soft, Dynamic, Clear, and Treble Boost.

The Galaxy Buds Live offer another unique feature. They’re the only true wireless earbuds to give you hands-free access to Samsung’s Bixby, the voice assistant that comes with the company’s line of Galaxy smartphones. If you’re a Galaxy user, this is an especially convenient bonus.

Battery life is on-par for ANC true wireless earbuds: 5.5 hours (plus about 15 more hours in the charging case) with ANC and Bixby detection turned on, but this can quickly ramp up to 8 hours plus 21 hours if you turn these features off. Speaking of the charging case, you can charge it with USB-C, wirelessly from a Qi-compatible charging mat, or from a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone.

Apple AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C and MagSafe review

The world has become loud, sometimes too much so, and having a solid pair of earbuds can make a big difference. Of course, the higher-end options with noise canceling tend to be prohibitively expensive, especially if you're an Apple user. Luckily, Walmart has an excellent sale that will let you grab a pair of solid noise-canceling headphones for a pretty good price, regardless of whether you're an Android or iOS user. We've collected both deals below for you to check out, although there's a lot more to say for each pair of earbuds, so be sure to check the full review when making your decision to buy.
SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds 2 Pro -- $106, was $230

Samsung's second iteration of these headphones has been both great and not-so-great, making the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro an excellent pair of earbuds to buy, but mostly when they are on sale. For the most part, they have everything you could want from a solid pair of headphones, and they actually have one of the best fits on the market. As such, they're really good for exercise and going out and about, and the IPX7 resistance means that they can handle the environment just fine. That said, the 360 audio and head tracking features are not that great and pale compared to the higher-end Apple earbuds. Even so, they're pretty excellent for the price, especially when discounted, so they're well worth picking up.

The side and bezel on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic.

There is a lot to love about smartwatches, especially if you're the sort of person who wants to get away from having to look at a screen constantly. Luckily, there are a ton of smartwatches to pick from, but if you're in the Samsung ecosystem, then you probably want to grab yourself a Samsung Galaxy Watch, and the latest is the Watch 6. Of course, it is a bit pricey, usually going for $450, but you can get it today from Samsung for just $370, and you can even get up to $250 of trade-in value on top of that. As if that wasn't enough, if you buy the Watch 6 from Samsung, you can also nab yourself a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro for just $100, rather than the usual $230.

Why you should buy the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6
When the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 came out, it felt like a bit of a letdown given that there wasn't a huge improvement over the Watch 4, but this time, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is quite an upgrade and the perfect time to jump in if you've been on the fence. For example, it has much smaller bezels, so you see more of the screen, and the overall watch is more comfortable to wear, while the sensor underneath has been redesigned to make better contact for more precise measurements. The new Watch OS, with Samsung's own One UI draped over it, is very snappy and has some pretty smooth performance, while the health tracking has also gotten a couple of solid upgrades, with a return of the Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis sensor, which can tell you things like BMI and body water.
