Fortnite season 5 week 6 challenge guide: How to signal the Coral Buddies

Add as a preferred source on Google

It’s common to have some kind of collectible challenge each week in Fortnite. Season 5 week 6 is no different, and for this challenge, you’re required to “signal the Coral Buddies.” The quest’s description doesn’t tell you exactly where to go or what to do, but fortunately, we’ve got the scoop on how to complete this challenge.

Do keep in mind, you must complete the challenge for blowing up fishing holes at Sharky Shell, Sweaty Sands, or Flopper Pond, given to you by Turk before being able to start this one. Once that’s complete, you’ll be able to head to Coral Castle to signal the Coral Buddies in Fortnite. Here’s how.

First clam

In essence, you simply have to interact with the three clams in Coral Castle to complete this challenge. Press and hold Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox, or Y on Nintendo Switch to interact with the clams at their designated locations.

You can interact with them in any order, but we’ll go from north to south for simplicity. The first one is located in the northwest section of this area by a huge rock. Use the image of the map and screenshot above for reference.

Second clam

The next clam is found on the southwestern side of this area, next to a blue tree, sort of in the middle of Coral Castle.

Third clam

Finally, the last one is on the south side of Coral Castle close to another rock. After you’ve interacted with all three, you’ll gain credit for completing the challenge and 20,000 XP for your troubles.

Since Coral Castle is home to a weekly challenge, you’ll likely come across a slew of enemy players, all with the same goal in mind. Because of that, we highly recommend bringing along a teammate or two, just to make things easier. If you do get killed before interacting with all three clams, you can — of course — pick up where you left off in another match, but it’s more efficient to get it done in one go. As always, you can wait a few days to give it another try, and it’ll likely be less busy once a new set of challenges rolls around.

Another piece of advice is to land at one of the buildings in Coral Castle to get stocked up on gear. Many times, players will simply make a beeline toward the objective without gearing up, leaving them vulnerable if they come across an enemy player. Don’t make that mistake — take the extra time to grab a weapon, some ammo, and shields. You’ll be glad you did.

Back-to-School sales are everywhere right now, but gaming accessories are one category where it's surprisingly easy to end up with outdated gear that only looks like a bargain. A real deal isn't just about a lower price, but it also needs to be a product that's still genuinely worth buying. After digging through this year's discounts, I kept coming back to the same three products. Whether it's a lightweight esports mouse, a comfortable wireless headset, or a controller that turns a phone into a handheld console, these are the accessories I'd actually recommend picking up while they're on sale.
