This underrated 2015 crime drama is finally on Netflix. Here’s why you should watch it
Four men sit at a table in Black Mass.

Great crime dramas used to be among the most common genre of movies. It's not as if the genre has gone away completely, to be sure, but today, it can be more difficult to find a well-told story about cops and robbers. With Black Mass arriving on Netflix on September 12, the crime movie vacuum just got filled ever so slightly.

The movie, which tells the story of Whitey Bulger's criminal empire and his cooperation with the FBI, is almost a decade old now. If you missed it when it was first released in theaters, though, these are three reasons that you should definitely make time for it while it's streaming.
It assembles a great cast

How to watch Jets vs. 49ers on Monday Night Football
Aerial view of Levi's Stadium where the San Francisco 49ers play.

Only one game remains on the NFL's Week 1 schedule, and it's one of the best. Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets head to Levi's Stadium to take on Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers. It's the first Monday Night Football game of the season. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call the game from the booth, with Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge reporting from the sidelines.

Rodgers' 2023 campaign ended in four plays after an Achilles' injury. The four-time MVP is healthy and back under center for the Jets, who will look to end their 13-season playoff drought. San Francisco is coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The 49ers have the weapons on both sides of the ball to make their third Super Bowl in six seasons.

A new US Open champion will be crowned in the men's final on Sunday afternoon. After years of watching Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic dominate, new competitors -- including Jannik Sinner, Jack Draper, Frances Tiafoe, and Taylor Fritz -- are rising stars in the sport.

It all comes down to one final match. The 2024 US Open Men's Final will feature world No. 1 Jannik Sinner versus No. 12 Taylor Fritz. If Sinner wins, it will mark his second Grand Slam of 2024 and cement him firmly as the best in the world. For Fritz, the entire country will be behind him at Arthur Ashe as he looks to become the first American man to win a Grand Slam since Andy Roddick's US Open win in 2003.
