If you want an entry-level MacBook that can sail you through your everyday productivity and multimedia consumption, we recommend the Apple MacBook Air (2017). It’s a great starter Mac and is compatible with the latest MacOS software, meaning you won’t be missing out on updated features. Its fifth-generation Intel Core i5 processor may be outdated, but the added power provided by the Turbo Boost makes it sufficient enough for running apps and tasks smoothly. Overall performance is further enhanced by the 8GB RAM which enables snappier multitasking and the 128GB solid-state drive (SSD) which promises faster read/write speeds, app loads, and boot times.

The 2017 MacBook Air flaunts a LED-backlit glossy widescreen display with a pixel resolution of 1,440 x 900 and support for millions of colors. If you want a MacBook that can handle more intense tasks, check out this MacBook Pro instead. It’s not as thin or light as the MacBook Air, but it packs beefier hardware for more powerful performance. This specific model features a new quad-core eighth-generation Intel processor which claims to deliver up to 90% faster performance compared to the previous 13-inch MacBook Pro. This chip is backed by 8GB of RAM which lets you zip through tasks fluidly, as well as a 256GB SSD which improves operation with faster load and boot times.

The strongest feature of the MacBook Pro is its display. The resolution is astonishing at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, the maximum brightness fares well even in extreme lighting conditions, the average color error value is very low, and the contrast is excellent. Whether it be movies, games, photos, or web content, everything looks rich and vibrant. Audio quality is equally impressive, and it’s all thanks to the room-filling speakers that can produce thumping bass along with undistorted high and mid-range sound.

While blazing-fast performance and outstanding visuals are enough reasons to get this MacBook Pro, another attractive feature is the well-performing touch bar. It can be used for several tasks including web browsing, note-taking, and photo-viewing. Now’s your chance to grab this sleek and solid laptop for a discounted price of $1,300.

A MacBook Pro M2 sits on a wooden table with a nice bokeh background.

Apple has long been known to turn out some of the best laptops, with models like the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro regularly being among the most sought-after laptops. It can actually be difficult to land some decent Apple deals, as the brand's popularity keeps many of its products from seeing the bargain bin. Right now, however, Apple has a lot of options among the best laptop deals. The original Apple Silicon MacBook Air is seeing some of its lowest prices ever, and there’s even some newer MacBook Pros discounted right now. Whether you’re in search of a MacBook Air or a MacBook Pro, reading onward you’ll find the best MacBook deals currently available.
Best MacBook Air (M1) deals

The Apple MacBook Air (M1) started a seismic shift for Apple being the first of its Airs to have an Apple-based processor. We took a look at the differences between the M2 and M1 and the M1 is still looking pretty great. It's also a touch nearer to affordable than anything else here. Fast yet fanless so it's silent to use, you gain an 18-hour battery life, a gorgeous looking 13.3-inch Retina display along with all the effortless style you'd expect from an Apple device. These laptops are best for students or those who want something stylish yet reasonably powerful to use on the move. Nowadays, deals are becoming a little harder to come by unless you're willing to consider a refurbished/renewed model.

Best Buy has a refurbished MacBook for $580, and it’s a good buy
Apple MacBook Air M1 open, on a table.

Typically, refurbished MacBook deals, or most refurbished laptop deals for that matter, aren't worth the cost. You can buy a brand-new system for about the same price, especially thanks to the best MacBook deals out there. But that's not the case with a deal Best Buy has available right now. You can get a Geek Squad Certified and refurbished MacBook Air, with an Intel 8th Gen Core i5,  for just $580 -- that saves you $320 off the usual $900 price. A newer model MacBook Air is going to cost you over $900, especially when you factor in taxes and shipping. This is the 2019 model, so while it is a few years old, you're still getting a laptop that can go the distance, as Apple's software updates usually keep older systems performing well.

Why you should buy this refurbished MacBook Air deal at Best Buy
Generally, we only recommend buying refurbished or renewed products straight from the manufacturer, but Best Buy's Geek Squad is the exception to that rule. That's because all refurbished and certified products go through rigorous testing, with detailing, sanitization, and cosmetic grading for the finished product done before they're put up for sale. In other words, they take their time to make sure they certify only good products in reasonable condition. Even if a bad egg slips by, they offer a 90-day warrant with extended warranty protection available -- if you're worried about extended coverage. Although extended warranties are available on an item-by-item basis, some may not qualify.
