Find my iPhone is one of those very useful features that you want to have turned on. It can prevent a thief from erasing your iPhone, or it can help you locate your device. It also lets you erase it remotely, lock it, or simply send an alert.

As long as Find My iPhone is turned on, you can’t erase your iPhone. There are times when you will want to know how to turn off Find My iPhone, such as when you’re getting ready to sell your iPhone to trade it in for a new iPhone 8 or iPhone X.

Step 1: Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Find My iPhone.

Step 2: Swipe the green toggle to the off position.

Step 3: Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off.

Some people want to sell their iPhone, and this is the reason why they need to turn off Find My iPhone. The first thing to do before you move on to your next iPhone is to back up your current iPhone. Keep in mind that before you erase and sell your iPhone, it is important for you to sign out of iCloud and iTunes and App Store. When you go to Settings > [your name], you will see Sign Out at the bottom of that page. Make sure that you sign out of your iCloud account, so that the new owner won’t be asked to enter your Apple ID and password.

Last November, Apple made a surprise announcement when it confirmed that RCS was coming to the iPhone in 2024. It's something iPhone and Android phone users alike have been waiting years for, but there was just one small problem: Apple never said when in 2024 RCS was coming. Thanks to Google, of all companies, we now have a better idea of when RCS is heading to the iPhone.

As spotted by 9to5Google, the Android website was recently updated with a new page dedicated to Google Messages. If you click on the "See more features" button for the section talking about RCS, there's a section titled "Better messaging for all" with the following text: "Apple has announced it will be adopting RCS in the fall of 2024. Once that happens, it will mean a better messaging experience for everyone."
