Best Prime Day fitness deals 2021: What to expect

If the past year has taught us anything, it’s that fitness has to take place where you are, and a home gym — or just a workout device like those found in these Prime Day deals — can take the place of an entire gym. For Amazon’s Prime Day 2021 date, which is set on June 21 and June 22, there will be a number of opportunities to save big on the best fitness equipment. Interested in getting in even better shape this year? Read on to discover what you can expect once Prime Day 2021 launches next week.

What Prime Day fitness deals to expect

The fitness category is an absolutely huge one on Amazon, and we expect its Prime Day deals to reflect this wide range. There are going to be discounts on every level, from the sneakers you use for running, jumping rope, or crosstraining to all-in-one machines, exercise bikes, fitness trackers, and so much more.

During this year’s Prime Day fitness sales, you can definitely anticipate discounts on some of the biggest and best-known brands, like NordicTrack and Bowflex for equipment, Apple and Samsung for smartwatches, Fitbit for fitness trackers, and Under Armour for apparel. On top of this, you’ll find discounts on lesser-known, more affordable brands as well as everything you’ll need to outfit a home gym: Weights, mats, kettlebells — you name it.

What Prime Day fitness deals we saw last year

Last year, we saw wide-ranging discounts on all sorts of fitness gear in the Prime Day fitness deals. There wasn’t really a pattern or theme like you might expect with other gear like iPads or robot vacuums; these discounts were all over the place.

Some of the largest discounts we saw, in terms of dollar amounts, were on traditional, large-scale fitness equipment. For example, you could find as much as $1,000 off a treadmill from NordicTrack. But even then, the price tag was still $3,000. Mid-priced items could be similarly discounted, with exercise bikes marked down by 25% to 30% and the same kinds of discounts falling on wearable tech like wireless earbuds and fitness trackers.

While always-pricy items like free weights and kettlebells weren’t discounted by much (usually around 10%), lighter fitness fare, like resistance bands, could be had for very cheap. And some of the steepest discounts, proportionately speaking, fell on apparel. Items like running shoes and shorts were available for as much as 75% off.

Should you buy new fitness equipment on Prime Day?

It’s a great question, and we lean toward yes. But a good way to frame the question is based on your needs: What are you actually missing in your fitness setup? If you’ve run through your sneakers, or if you know a kettlebell set is exactly what you need to get in shape, and you’ve had an eye on some for weeks or months, then absolutely buy them on Prime Day.

Our past experience tells us that fitness deals won’t be much cheaper during future sales, like end-of-summer clearance or even Black Friday. Prime Day fitness deals are as cheap as they come; our guide to the best total gyms will help you figure out what’s right for you.

At the same time, you don’t want to be saddled with fitness equipment that you don’t really need. If you’re browsing and come across some Prime Day fitness sales that interest you, make sure that they fit into your budget, and then tease out if the discount is significant enough for you to buy it right away. The last thing you want is to be lured into a sale that sounds better than it is and then end up with an exercise bike you weren’t even sure you needed.

The best fitness deals happening now

You don’t have to wait until Prime Day to score some of the equipment and tech in fitness. Right now, there are tons of sales offering you the best fitness deals so you can get in shape for less. Check them out:
