Logitech G500 Review

Summary

Although Logitech’s G500 Gaming Mouse is the cheaper cousin to the company’s flagship gaming mouse, the G9x we reviewed in March, we much prefer this simpler rodent. It delivers nearly all the same features, and it’s a better fit for our hands.

It’s not a perfect though: We’d score the G500 even higher if it felt as comfortable as Logitech’s wireless Anywhere Mouse MX and used Logitech’s new Darkfield laser. We’re also not fans of the G500’s “battle-worn” finish, which makes the mouse look aged right out of the box. When we first opened our sample, we thought Logitech had sent us a unit that some sweaty product tester had been pounding on for the last six months. Yuck.

Logitech Squeezebox Radio Review

Summary

Logitech lopped a few features off the Squeezebox Boom, added several others—including a beautiful 2.4-inch display—and whacked $100 off the price tag to come up with the Squeezebox Radio, a phenomenal value among audio-streaming devices. The Boom sounds a little better than the Radio (especially when you’re comparing the speakers built into each box), but that advantage largely disappears when you use outboard speakers. And the Radio’s display adds a host of features the Boom can’t match.

Logitech Fires Up G110 Custom Backlit Gaming Keyboard

Logitech G110

For gamers would rather keep their eyes on the enemy than their keyboards, Logitech’s screen-equipped G19 and G15 can seem a little excessive. And starting at $100, a little spendy. Perhaps with that in mind, Logitech has turned back the gimmick dial just a notch for its latest creation: the G110. The screen-less and more affordable G110 strips the concept of a gaming keyboard back to just what a Mountain-Dew sipping World of Warcraft player needs: extra buttons and macros.

Logitech Z523 Review

logitech_z523_4

Have you ever wondered why more audio companies aren’t building PC speakers these days? Listen to Logitech’s Z523 speaker system and you’ll ask a second question that handily explains the first: How in the world can any company manufacture powered speakers that sound this good and sell them for a hundred bucks? Before the audiophiles in the crowd issue a fatwa on us though, let us be clear in that we are praising these speakers chiefly for their price/performance ratio. They suffer mightily in comparison to some of the pricier speakers we’ve auditioned—Audioengine USA’s $350 A5, for example, but frankly, we haven’t heard anything that comes close to the Z523 at this price range.

Logitech Performance Mouse MX Review

Summary

Logitech’s Performance Mouse MX is the desktop cousin to the company’s mobile Anywhere Mouse MX, and it’s every bit as fabulous. Both mice feature Logitech’s exquisite Darkfield Laser Tracking, which enables them to function accurately on just about any surface, including glass, and both devices use Logitech’s new Unifying wireless technology, which enables a single tiny USB-powered wireless receiver to control multiple peripherals. For this review, we ran the Performance Mouse MX alongside Logitech’s new Wireless Keyboard K350 to see how it would perform – read on to find out the results.
