LG Corp. is creating a new LCD parts supplier for their industry-leading flat-screen maker, LG Philips LCD.
The number one LCD manufacturer will now get a boost from its corporate giant’s latest venture, an LCD component supply company. LG Corp. has created a new firm called Lumsen Co., which is to supply LCD driver chips to LG Philips LCD.
The new company is set to start mass-production this year. LG Philips LCD is a 50/50 joint-venture between LG Electronics and Royal Philips Electronics.
