Google Will Offer Travelers Free WiFi This Holiday Season

biggoogleGoogle is giving the holiday gift of free wireless Internet to travelers at a host of US airports this holiday season.

The California-based Internet powerhouse said Tuesday that it is working with Boingo Wireless, Advanced Wireless Group, and Airport Marketing Income to turn airports into free Internet hot spots through January 15 of next year.

“We’re very happy to extend our Holiday Wi-Fi gift to the millions of people who will spend time in airports over the next few months,” said Google vice president of search products Marissa Mayer.

Limited to 500 models, Bell & Ross is crafting their BR01 completely in high performance carbon fiber. Both the face and the strap will be getting the carbon fiber treatment and it will also be complemented by their BR01-94 chronograph model. Esquire’s Augmented Reality Issue Hits Newstands

The December issue of Esquire Magazine is finally out and highlights new Augmented Reality technology. Special pages in this issue will feature what looks like a crossword puzzle barcode. Just install the software from Esquire’s website (available for either Mac or PC) and then once it’s activated you can hold the special issue up to the webcam to see a suedo-3D  interactive show/feature from Robert Downey Jr. etc.

The whole technology show is pretty cool and gives a possible insight into the future of the magazine biz. Augmented Reality is the concept of overlaying computerized information, digital pop-up windows and/or virtual reality (VR) displays over real-world scenes and imagery.

Motorola Droid Launch Kicked Off with Free Music Concert in NYC

Adrian GrenierIn the ongoing battle for smartphone domination in the US, Apple has faced the launch of several supposed “iPhone killers” out to steal its thunder courtesy of manufacturers like LG, HTC, Palm, and others.  Now Motorola has entered into the fray, pulling out all the stops with its new Android-powered Motorola Droid smartphone and supporting “Droid Does” campaign, designed to highlight features the handset offers which the iPhone 3G S doesn’t.

Tundra Midnight Rider Tailgater by Brooks & Dunn

Toyota’s Midnight Rider Tundra Tailgater is a tribute to the legendary country music band Brooks & Dunn and helps celebrates the music duo’s upcoming 2010 farewell tour.

The slide-out tailgate reveals a Grill N’ Chill cooking setup complete with infrared BBQ, counter top, beer tap and ice chest. Other features include a 42-inch LCD TV (Sharp is used in the picture) and sound system by Kicker which includes dual sub woofers and separate amp, four two-way speakers/tweeters and a separate equalizer and control unit.

In good country fashion, Toyota topped this intimidating Tundra off with custom western-engraved silver door handles, chrome Brooks & Dunn steer skull logo, Mickey Thompson 35-inch “claw” off-road tires and more. The full list of features is listed below:

The Beatles USB Apple Collection

EMI will be releasing next month a special collection of remastered beatles albums on an Apple shaped USB thumbdrive. The 16GB thumbdrive will include 14 albums in both 320 Kbps MP3 and lossless FLAC 44.1 Khz 24-bit format (for audiophiles), album artwork, rare photos, 13 mini-documentary films and all tied into a cool flash unterface.

EMI will only be releasing 30,000 of these special drives and will they will set you back $280. Look for them December 7th in the UK and December 8th in the U.S.

Ford: Inflatable Seatbelt Could Help Save Lives

fordU.S. automaker Ford announced it will introduce a new seatbelt airbag that will first find its way into automobiles starting with the 2011 Ford Explorer SUV.

The Ford system operates by placing a small cylinder of cold compressed gas that sits underneath the rear seats, with an inflatable bag located in the seatbelts. After a vehicle impact occurs, this new system is designed to spread the force of impact over more parts of the human body, which helps reduce the amount of impact felt by the human chest.
