TI Is Developing DTV Chip For Cell Phones

Texas Instruments is developing a family of DTV chips that will bring broadcast TV to cell phones by as early as 2006.

“To do so, the company has set up a new Mobile DTV unit within its Mobile Connectivity Solutions Group, which also includes the wireless LAN, GPS and the Personal Area Networking Group. That new group will be managed by Kush Parikh, strategic marketing manager for the Connectivity Solutions Group.
