Lexmark Announces Faster Photo Printers

From Lexmark’s press release:

The new lineup includes printers and All-In-One (AIO) products that will also satisfy the performance and color demands of small office/home office (SOHO) professionals.

“With each product generation, Lexmark offers more features and enhanced technology to exceed the demands of our most discerning customers,” said Najib Bahous, Lexmark vice president and president of its Consumer Printer Division. “Lexmark’s products are well known for their vivid photo and graphics capabilities, and these new products can deliver impressive color output in seconds.”

New ink technology
Lexmark’s new ink technology is a six-color system that combines dye-based and pigmented inks. Using this new long lasting six-color system and specified photo papers, consumers can achieve a wide color gamut and print brilliant photos with vibrant colors that last for decades under display conditions.* This technology resists fading from light, enabling consumers to better preserve cherished photographs and keepsakes.

High-Speed Photos on demand
Engineered for customers looking to print quality photos fast, the Lexmark X5270 All-In-One and Lexmark Z816 offer impressive photo print speeds. The products can generate a four-color, 4” x 6” borderless photo on glossy photo paper as fast as 32 seconds** in QuickPrint mode – the fastest in its class.

Dynamic machine for SOHO and at-home users – Lexmark X5270 All-In-One
The Lexmark X5270 All-In-One Print Center ($129) is ideal for creative consumers and home office users on a Windows or Mac platform. The 48-bit flatbed color scanner captures the finest details, and one-touch photo copying is perfect for creative projects.

Powerful inkjet for photo enthusiasts – Lexmark Z816 Color Jetprinter
For those in search of a dedicated inkjet printer, the Lexmark Z816 is a versatile solution for Windows and Mac users, priced at an affordable $99. Also featuring borderless printing, color drop sizes as small as three picoliters for the highest quality detail, and optional six-color printing technology, the Lexmark Z816 is well equipped to produce stunning quality photos. With speeds of up to 15 ppm in color and up to 22 ppm in black, it is a well-rounded choice for customers seeking quality and performance.

SOHO workhorse – Lexmark X4270 All-In-One Office Center
The Lexmark X4270 is designed for demanding SOHO professionals seeking a compact solution that accommodates a wide variety of needs. The Lexmark X4270 boasts best-in-class black print speeds of up to 19 ppm and fast color speeds of up to 10 ppm – crucial for the users with tight deadlines.

The $129 Lexmark X4270 replaces five pieces of office equipment: phone, fax, printer, copier and scanner. Offering uncompromised standalone fax functionality, the Lexmark X4270 features a 33.6K modem, 99 speed dial settings, and a fax broadcast function that allows users to cut down on administrative time. In addition, the fax-forward function is ideal for telecommuters who split their time between two locations and seek the ability to receive rerouted faxes.

The sheet-fed X4270 can make copies with just one touch and offers speeds of up to 18 copies per minute (cpm) in black and up to six cpm in color. Ideal for small workstations, the Lexmark X4270 also includes the convenience of Caller ID support and a handset that can function as the customer’s primary phone.

AIO functionality with inkjet ease-of-use
The Lexmark X1185 and X2250 All-In-One Print Centers are designed for inkjet shoppers who would benefit from having the added capabilities of an AIO, but want the ease-of-use typically associated with an inkjet printer. Both offer a streamlined front panel that is incredibly intuitive, and a low, slanted design make is easy to operate for the seated user. Windows and Mac compatible, these models boast black speeds of up to 14 ppm in black and quick color printing with up to eight ppm.

The $79 Lexmark X1185 features PC-enable copying, and the $99 Lexmark X2250 has the added convenience of standalone copying.
