Napster has launched the UK version of its music download service, several months before the projected launch date

The news came at a press conference today in London. Users can visit www.napster.co.uk and sign up for a 7-day trail membership.

500,000 titles are currently available, with plans to increase that total to 700,000 in the next 30 days.

The service will cost 99p for single titles with full albums starting at £9.95.
