A major update to Microsoft's Windows XP operating system has been delayed once again, but the company still targets an August release.
Microsoft’s Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, which has been delayed several times over the last few months, has been delayed once again.
While a firm date was never announced for the operating system update, many reports showed it scheduled for an around August 5 release. According to CNET News.com, a Microsoft representative said Wednesday that more work was needed before it could be released.
Service Pack 2 will include a number of security fixes including an improved firewall and an updated network setup wizard.
A new date has not been set, but the company says that the update should be ready sometime this month.
