Upgrade specialist PocketPCTechs has now launched a new stacked RAM upgrade for the Dell Axim X5 Advanced unit.
The company can add 64 MB of RAM to the unit to reach a total of 128 MB of RAM, of which 64 will be managed by the Pocket PC’s built-in memory manager with the additional 64 MB set up as an internal storage card. The upgrade is available now for $99 USD plus shipping.
Users of Dell’s Axim X5 Entry handheld are, for now, out of luck. According to PocketPCTechs, the company is technically capable of performing a similar upgrade for this model, however does not plan on offering this citing that the OS image of the unit has been hardcoded for 32 MB of RAM only.
